Tour to Lakes of Covadonga, Onís Cangas and Ballasts from Gijón
Description
Our tour will begin when our guides pick you up at the meeting point early in the morning to arrive as soon as possible at the Lakes of Covadonga and make the most of the day. We will stop at the Mirador de Entrelagos and enjoy the wonderful views of Lake Ercina and Lake Enol. Then we will continue until we reach the Basilica of Covadonga, a truly impressive building. We will also see the Cave of the Virgin of Covadonga or the Cave, where the carving of La Santina is located. Then we will stop for lunch in Cangas de Onís, to taste typical Asturian dishes or enjoy the city at your leisure. We will have panoramic views from the bus to the beaches of La Espasa, La Isla and La Griega. Finally, we will make a stop in Lastres, where we can contemplate the town and its imposing viewpoint.

The Covadonga Natural Park was the first National Park in Spain and, in 1995, it was changed to the Picos de Europa National Park and biosphere reserve. After the explanations on the bus, the guide will accompany the group to the viewpoint of entrelagos, so that they can enjoy the views of Lakes Enol and Ercina.
The Basilica of Santa María la Mayor de Covadonga is an essential stop on our tour. We will also talk about La Campanona, which weighs 5,000 kilos, and the crypt. oh! And of the Obelisk where they say that Pelayo was proclaimed King. Get ready to hear the most interesting stories!
Cangas de Onís, Its bridge with the Victoria Cross hanging from its arch is a symbol of the council. The church tower will also attract your attention with its 33 meters and 6 bells on 3 floors. Leisure! Take the opportunity to discover, get lost in its streets or try the famous Asturian gastronomy. A cachopín with patatines? And of course, do not leave without “taking a culín”.
Bordering the Asturian coast, we will get panoramic views of the beaches of La Espasa, La Isla and La Griega, indispensable on the Asturian coast. Finally, we will then stop in Lastres, one of the most beautiful villages in Spain, where we will enjoy the charm of the place and its impressive viewpoint aloft. The views are simply spectacular!

It was our best experience in Asturias. Even though I joined the Spanish tour because the English tour was fully booked, still was a fantastic experience. The tour guide was very friendly and made sure to provide the summary of events to me and my family in English. The sights were amazing. This is a lifetime memory that everyone must experience.
A long day but holy smokes so worth it. The Picos de Europa park was the highlight. I went to eat a Cachopo in Cangas which was nice too.

This is a great tour through very scenic parts of Asturias that are often overlooked. Our guide - Santiago - was very thorough (and funny) in his explanations of what we would see and where/when we meet to head to the next stop. My friends were the only 2 people on the tour that didn't speak English, and he made sure to give the same explanation in English so they didn't miss a thing on the tour. It was a great experience!

Today we did this wonderful tour with David as a guide and we had an exceptional experience, his knowledge is very broad and he is very clear in his explanations, he was always very kind and was attentive at all times to all the tourists in the group. The places visited are very beautiful. The Tour is 100% worth it and is totally recommended. Keep in mind that the climb to the point where you can see the two lakes is somewhat tiring and can become heavy in high temperatures.

The tour was good in general, however it says we visit the city of Lastres, instead we just stopped at a mirador at the entrance of the town, the guide didn't take us to see the iconic clock even when it was steps from the mirador. Daniel was knowledgable about history, but he was not very accommodating, we have to wait over 20 minutes for a couple which was late, and later additional 20 minutes for a problem with the bus. Not even with that he gave us at least 30 minutes to explore Lastres. The worts part is the way he told us about not being late, he did a threat about leaving whoever was late, right of the bat, before starting the excursion. There should be a more kind way to say to be punctual.

Ana is an enthusiastic guide and being bi-lingual made it easy for the English speaking part of the group. Each of the locations was described in just the right amount of detail and she was very happy to answer questions on places or things that we noticed along the way, whilst walking around the sites.
