Hidden Gem of Colombia
Let’s start by thanking Romero, he was an absolute pleasure. He has a great sense of humor and an awesome playlist for the drive. He is a great tour guide and made our trip so enjoyable.
I enjoyed all the stops, learning about the culture, experiencing traditional Palenque music and dance. Can I say how high energy the dancers were and the band was very good too.
We went to see the medicine man, who has all kinds of herbal remedies, I wish I could bottle them up. We had an opportunity to enjoy a special tea and some palenque moonshine 🥰
I was amazed at the number and authenticity of the murals in Palenque. We got some very good pictures of the murals, which you could easily spend an entire day going from place to place.
Lunch was included in our tour and it was quite delicious, chicken breast, rice, peas, salad which was like a coleslaw without the mayo. The drink that accompanied our meal was lemonade-ish with real cane sugar. The meal gave me my entire life.
Culturally it is definitely an experience that makes me proud to be black. I could tell by looking at the people of Palenque, that we all descended from the same land because we look so much alike.
This is a tour that I’d recommend if you like getting in touch with your roots or want to learn about another culture.

Thank you, Palenque!
A valuable African diasporic experience. We enjoyed our time in Palenque with the people and learning about their culture, history, dancing, food, etc. Everything was safe and everyone was friendly. Highly recommend this experience - go on a day where your time is flexible.

Birthday Trip
The driver, Juan, transported us safely to and from the pick up location and all the stops along the way.
Romero, our guide, was humorous, insightful, and informative. During the guide, he explained to the group about the cultural history, communal history, and the sustainability of the innovative, social economic system in Palengue

Very good food, beautiful dance performance
It was a beautiful excursion with interesting insights into the culture and history of Palenge. The food (vegetarian option) was very, very delicious. However, I found the excursion a bit too expensive overall. I had booked directly through the organizer High Tours Agency.
