Itinerary
For the pickup process: Your guides will come to your hotel located in Districts 1, 3, or 4 to pick you up by motorbike, or we can meet at the Saigon Opera House as a meeting point. You will be driven by a well-trained and safe driver with Motorbike Accident Insurance coverage of up to $5,000. This tour is safe for all ages
First stop: We will visit a coconut juice stall to enjoy a refreshing coconut juice infused with pineapple or tangy kumquat jam as we get to know the other guests and tour guides. Then we head to the 2nd stop to try papaya salad, originally offered in our tour since 2018. It includes long strands of thinly cut green papaya, roasted peanuts, black beef jerky, a wonderful addition of sliced Vietnamese coriander, and finally a handful of extra crispy fritters and fried shrimp crackers on the very top. *fresh, yummy, and must-try
Now we’re heading to the heart of District 3. For the third stop, we’ll try grilled bananas wrapped in their leaves and served with sweet and salty silky coconut milk, a creation honed over 20 years by our vendor. *sometimes, the owner doesn't allow many bikes at the same time due to traffic, so we may buy it and bring it to the 4th stop
Nothing beats Saigon Bo Kho (our 4sth stop): Southern-style beef stew with glass noodles, slow-cooked with whole shallots (naturally sweet), carrots, and herbs in a rich, flavorful broth *loved by Mark Wiens (exclusively offered on this tour)
Ho Thi Ky is the largest wholesale flower market, located in District 10, Ho Chi Minh City, supplying flowers to the city and some provinces in the south of Vietnam. At this market, we will try Khmer-style grilled beef, Vietnamese pizza, and Saigon beer. We learn how to cheer like a Vietnamese Also, would you ever guess which Bánh Mì locals eat every day? Yes, we will show you the authentic one (not Huynh Hoa or any expensive version) after visiting this market.
As we mentioned, there will be a lot of food to come on this tour, so we hope you still have some room for Bánh Xèo in Chinatown, which is 3 km away from Ho Thi Ky Market (District 10). Bánh Xèo is a savory Vietnamese crepe, bright yellow and crispy, filled with shrimp, pork, and vegetables, and served with sweet chili sauce and pickled sweet sauce for dipping. Afterward, we will visit an old apartment in District 10 for Chè, a traditional Vietnamese sweet soup, or creamy flan.
Back to hotel: We will drop you off at your hotel (the same as the pickup address), or you can choose a meeting point at bars or pubs located in Districts 1, 3, and 4. We can also provide you with a list of food and addresses upon request after the tour.

We did the Top Notch Street Food Tour with Saigon Vibes as a family of four – myself, my husband and our two teenage children – and absolutely loved it! Our guides, Kelly, Andy, Will, John and Kit, were brilliant. They were incredibly friendly, welcoming and fun, and really made the whole experience special. The food was amazing and we loved getting to try so many different Vietnamese dishes and visiting places we would never have discovered on our own. I was a little nervous beforehand about travelling through Saigon traffic on the back of a motorbike, but I needn’t have worried. The guides were excellent drivers and I felt completely safe throughout the tour. In fact, travelling around the city by motorbike ended up being a huge part of the fun! It was a fantastic way to experience Saigon, especially as a family with teenagers. Great food, great company and a really memorable evening. If you’re looking for a fun and authentic way to experience Vietnamese food, I highly recommend this motorbike food tour. From the very beginning, Ricky, An and Ryan were so friendly, welcoming and attentive. They made us feel safe and comfortable throughout the entire ride, even though we were exploring the city by motorbike for the first time. The food was AMAZING 🤤 We got to try so many different Vietnamese dishes that we probably wouldn’t have discovered on our own, and they also explained what we were eating and how the locals enjoy the food. The food was very original and totally delicious, riding the scooter was exciting and fun, the riders were super nice and helpful.
The food tour was amazing, from the pick up until the drop off everything went smoothly. We tried lots of local dishes and drinks and the guides Kelly, John, Milo and Andy were absolutely fantastic!! Would definitely recommend and will book again next time!!
We took the motorcycle food tour on our last night in HCMC, and it was the perfect way to end our holiday! Ricky, Nam, John and Leon (our guides) were great - super friendly, knowledgeable and eager to tell us about life in the city. We were slightly apprehensive about taking our two kids on the bikes (aged 10 and 15), but Ricky and team immediately put us at ease. They arrived at the hotel on time, talked us through the itinerary, and made us feel safe and confident. Overall, it was an amazing trip. The food was tasty and plentiful, we got to see parts of the city we wouldn’t have visited otherwise, and riding bikes though the city was incredible. Top trip.
