Located in the heart of Santorini, the village of Pyrgos, when interpreted from Greek, translates to the "watchtower of the island." This name is deeply rooted in its history and geographical position. From its strategic location, the village provides unique and unparalleled views of the entire island, stretching from the sparkling Aegean Sea to the picturesque vineyards and traditional whitewashed houses that dot the landscape. The village's layout is intricately designed like a labyrinth. This complex design was not just for aesthetics, but it was a defensive strategy to deter and confuse pirate invasions in the past, which were common occurrences in the Aegean Sea
