Wonderful experience learning about the city, culture & food. Our tour guide KAZ, was very knowledgeable and fun to tour with!
Ethan was great. Good conversationalist and fun. He gave us some history and awesome cool eating areas which we would never have found.
It's so wonderful to hear you enjoyed exploring Tokyo with Ethan! We're glad his local knowledge, engaging conversation, and hidden food finds helped make the experience so memorable!
We did an Arigato Food Tour on our first night in Japan and loved it so much, so we booked another! Our second tour was with Ethan and it was such a great experience. We went on our last night in Japan and tried foods that we hadn't tried yet and explored a new neighborhood. Highly recommend!
Wow! What amazing praise! We absolutely love hearing how you enjoyed one tour so much that it led to another! It's wonderful that your experience with Ethan gave you the chance to discover even more of Japan on your final night, from new foods to a neighborhood you hadn't yet been able to explore. We're delighted that both tours added something truly special to your trip, and we truly appreciate your recommendation. Thank you for choosing to spend two evenings with us!
We had the pleasure to have half Japanese-half Brazilian Ully10 as a guide. She gave culinary and cultural tips and did so with great enthusiasm and authenticity. Ask for Ully if you want to do this tour of Ginza.
Super good guided tour by Francois who told us about Japanese food culture but also about Japanese everyday life etc. Very interesting! Very good selection of restaurants and food. We are very happy!
Excellent tour with 5 great stops and all super quality food and drink We went to restaurants we would never have found ourselves We both really enjoyed our tour and the tour leader Francois was brilliant throughout
We had a great time with our tour guide, Kazuko, she introduced us to so many different types of tasty fish that we saw at the fish market. She was very knowledgeable about all the different seafood options available for us to eat for lunch. She is a very kind person and a joy to be around.
Thank you for your lovely review! We're so glad you had such a great time exploring the fish market in Tokyo with Kazuko! Her knowledge of seafood and her warm, kind nature always help make every tour she leads special! It's so wonderful to hear and means a lot to know that you enjoyed discovering all the tasty options along the way!
We had an absolutely incredible food tour in Tokyo with Ema from Arigato Travel, and it was hands down one of the best experiences of our entire trip! The evening started with a thoughtful tea tasting, which set the perfect tone and made the whole tour feel so well planned. From there, Ema took us to a wonderful local Japanese restaurant, followed by another authentic spot where we enjoyed both cold and hot udon noodles. Ema has such a gift for making you feel welcome — he took the time to learn our likes and dislikes, then ordered for us with perfect intuition every single time. After dinner, he treated us to a delicious dessert and then took us to the most amazing view and park at the top of Ginza 6. Throughout the evening, Ema shared fascinating cultural insights that made everything so much richer — like how slurping noodles is customary and that you should never pour your own sake because it's considered bad luck. He was patient, never rushed us, and made us feel like we were exploring Tokyo with a good friend. Ema is a true five-star guide in every sense — kind, smart, funny, worldly, and such a joy to spend time with. We laughed, learned, and ate incredibly well. If you're visiting Tokyo, do yourself a favor and book a tour with Ema and Arigato Travel. You won't regret it. Thank you so much, Ema — you made our evening unforgettable!
Thank you so much for sharing such an incredible and thoughtful review! We’re absolutely delighted to hear your evening with Ema was one of the standout experiences of your trip to Tokyo. From the carefully planned tea tasting to the variety of authentic dining experiences, it’s wonderful to know every part of the evening felt special, personal, and memorable. Ema’s ability to create such a welcoming atmosphere while tailoring the experience to your tastes is truly something special, and we’re so glad his thoughtful approach helped make each stop feel perfectly chosen. We always put a lot of effort into picking each one, so it means a lot to hear such great praise! It’s also fantastic to hear how much you enjoyed the cultural insights he shared along the way. Those meaningful details and traditions can make discovering Japan even more rewarding. Your kind words about Ema’s warmth, humor, and knowledge mean so much. We love hearing that the experience felt like exploring Tokyo with a good friend while enjoying incredible food, laughter, and unforgettable moments together. The beautiful ending at Ginza 6 sounds like the perfect finish to such a special evening. Thank you again for your heartfelt recommendation. We’ll be sure to share your wonderful feedback with Ema; he’ll be truly touched. We’re so honored to have been part of such a memorable night and hope to welcome you back for another amazing adventure in Japan!
A really fab food tour. Wonderful Francois took us to really interesting places - eg a restaurant under railway tracks. Lots of delicious food and really learnt a lot about Japanese food. Highly recommended!
