I bought the combo ticket with the museum so the crypt was only 3 Euros more. Great deal! The Cripta San Sepolcro offers a different but equally fascinating perspective on Milan's history. It's a medieval underground church with stunning architecture and historical significance. It was like stepping back in time. It was cold but not creepy and it didn't take long to walk through the crypt. There were a few people walking through the crypt but it wasn't crowded or congested. Not surprisingly, da Vinci has ties to the crypt. He visited the church at the end of the 15th century and sketched the upper and lower church (the crypt). It's noted at the end of the tour.
Wonderful Pinacoteca inside the Palazzo dell'Ambrosiana. Entrance to the most cryptic art gallery is 20 euros. The most important painting is Caravaggio's fruit basket.
Must stop next to the Duomo. We buy the Tour that includes the Pinacoteca Ambrosiana and the Crypt of the Holy Sepulchre.
Palace and collections of great value and prestige however the logistical disorganization and rudeness of some staff members marred the visit. We had booked evening entrance to the art gallery and crypt, at the entrance they made us (rightly) deposit jackets, bags and umbrellas, without telling us that the route included exit to the street to be able to return to the entrance and retrieve our belongings. There is no signage in the street where it rained then non-Milanese and foreigners wandered in the street (under the water in our case) Shameful for a museum of this importance.
Very nice museum. A little dark but the canvases are well highlighted. Do not miss the Codex Atlanticus, this collection of drawings and notes by Leonardo da Vinci.
Exceptional works but non-existent illumination of most of the captions/museum plaques alongside. (Museum visited in the evening)
For those with limited time, the first two rooms contain the most notable paintings. But it would be a shame to miss Leonardo da Vinci's Portrait of a Musician, Rafael's boxes (designed for the fresco "The School of Athens", in the Vatican) or the many paintings by Brueghel the Elder. Set aside an hour and a half.
An exciting journey of art and culture. A wonderful place and rich in history that is very reminiscent of scenes from Harry Potter and where the Da Vinci Code is kept . a mere hidden jewel that deserves your attention. Don't miss it!
Very interesting art gallery with paintings by famous artists, such as Leonardo, Botticelli, Titian, Tintoretto Luini, Hayez; well-marked path; interesting Leonardo's codes; beautiful architecture of the building and the Rooms.
