This farm tour was one of the highlights of my family's trip to Jamaica! Having grown up on a farm and loving nature, being able to learn more about local agriculture and natural history from the farm owners was a treat. Seeing birds (including the Streamertail hummingbird - national bird of Jamacia), sampling fruits picked fresh during our tour, and learning about the history was really enjoyable. Fresh coconut jelly, papaya, banana, pineapple were all delicious. There are chickens, geese, peacocks and turkeys who enjoy the extra papayas too. My 5, 8 and 12 year-old children had fun, and the adults learned about the farm's history, and the current owner's remarkable journey for sustainable agriculture, reforestation and rural development. Recommended for those who love the outdoors and anyone who wants to learn more about their food. We drove from Runaway Bay, and also noticed Martha Brae River tours along the way, which might make a good day trip combination. We learned that Usain Bolt grew up just down the road and would train running past the farm, and lots of other fun facts about the area. Drivers not used to rural hilly roads might want to consider having a local driver. I'd recommend calling in advance to make sure someone is there to give a tour. We didn't, and waited a few minutes as the owners were out in town. We did the online booking that morning but I don't think it actually processed in time to give the owners the head's up we were coming. It was well worth the few minutes wait and the drive for us though, the owners were so kind and welcoming.
