Itinerary
Machu Picchu, which in Spanish means “old mountain”, is the most famous Inca citadel in the world. Located 110 km northeast of Cusco, in the province of Urubamba. This architectural gem is surrounded by temples, platforms and water channels. In order to visit Machu Picchu, Inca Rail has three starting points: The San Pedro stations in Cusco, Poroy and Ollantaytambo from which you can board the train of your choice bound for the Machu Picchu Pueblo station. It also offers its Bimodal service which combines a trip on the exclusive bus, starting from Av. El Sol 843, near the Plaza de Armas to Ollantaytambo to board the train to Machu Picchu Pueblo. The Bimodal service is available all year round. Between January and April it is suggested to leave with the Bimodal service, because due to weather conditions, it will not be possible to leave from the San Pedro and Poroy train stations.

My friend and I were super impressed with this experience! We did the tour yesterday with circuit 1B, and at first we were afraid that it wouldn't be enough to enjoy it, but no. Our guide, Maria Ricalde, made our trip through Machu Picchu magical! She told us many stories about the Inca empire, and she explained everything we were seeing. In addition to having a spectacular guide (who also took great photos), we never felt lost because of the very good organization of Inca Rail. I will definitely repeat this experience in the future and will recommend this tour to my friends. Thanks to our guide and to Inca Rail!
Gabi gave us a great tour. Very pleasant, very good information and communication. 10/10
I had a good experience with the staff, especially with Maria Ricalde our guide, super friendly, patient, and very knowledgeable about the history. It was a pleasure in every way. Thanks
It was a smooth trips, not hard to understand boarding procedures or where to be. The snacks provided was small but enough depending on what activities you were to do next. The staff was incredibly friendly and cared about the guests. We’re in Machu Picchu village until Saturday and it nice knowing our train ride back will be an easy trip
Tania was an excellent host at the Inka Rail office. She assisted and guided us at all times. Very grateful for her management. The place is beautiful. 100% recommended.
The bimodal service from Cusco to macchu picchu was comfortable however you simply cannot get away from the extortionate cost. The only way to get to Macchu Picchu is by rail with one of two operators and both charge similar prices. It costs hundreds of dollars to go and return. I would rather pay this to the archaeological site itself that to a private rail company but you have no choice but to pay unless you are prepared to walk
It was a truly positive experience; given the fire situation, Ms. Edith Pizarro assisted us at all times and informed us of all developments. Thank you very much.
Excellent experience, the transport logistics were very good. They wait for you and pick you up at the meeting points. The guide was excellent, his name is Víctor Coavoy Cahuana, he picked us up on time, set a good pace even for climbing the mountain, very kind and gave an excellent explanation.
Very good support from Tripadvisor:
