We loved this tour, Gareth was an excellent guide giving us lots of information and history about Wales and giving us ideas of how long to stay in each castle and what to see in each area. We'll definitely be going back to south Wales!!
Gareth was a delightful guide for the day. His knowledge of history is outstanding and we added a number of special touches to make the day memorable. We weren’t rushed at all and yet had time to make an extra stop (very well worth it!) before heading back to our hotels. I thoroughly enjoyed and the day and would recommend without hesitation for a castle-filled day!
Does require a lot of walking, but is fun. Did not feel rushed, and tour guide was very informative!
Gareth was an excellent guide for our tour to the valley. He was extremely knowledgeable about the area, the sites & answered the many questions we had about Wales & the Welsh people. I liked that he gave us several options at stops, including a beautiful walk along the river in Tintern.
Gareth was a great tour guide - very knowledgeable and safe and courteous driver. The Castles were impressive and the town we stopped for lunch was very pretty. Options for walks in nature too were much appreciated and tour arrived back on time.
Thank you for taking the time to leave me this review. I'm so happy that you enjoyed the day
Our tour guide was better than one could expect. His knowledge of the area w not just from a text book but personal. We were in the area he grew up in, he spoke English and the Welsh. He not only took us to the sites of the tour but two other sites and he offered us options that let us experience more of Wales.
Thanks for the compliments. I enjoyed the day and your company
As one would expect, the tour guide was quite knowledgeable. However, this tour guide, Gareth Bates, is of a Welsh descent and a history teacher and enthusiast. As a result Gareth is the perfect guide for anyone interested in learning about Wales and its history. He is a font of knowledge and presents his information well. Beyond that, he also is very attentive to his customers, ensuring that they do not get lost (very important for a tour guide!) and gathering all together even when they have chosen slightly different activities. He also is a bit of a raconteur, which makes him fascinating to listen to even when driving from one location to the next.
Thank you so much for this. I am so happy that you enjoyed the tour and my company
The tour was great. Got lots of information on history and the Welsh language. Gareth suggested we buy a 3 day pass. It worked great as we used it for the tour and the next two days seeing 8 castles for a low price. .
Thanks Catherine. It's lovely of you to leave this review. I hope that you're enjoying North Wales
Had an awesome day checking out the Welsh valleys! Walking around those old castles felt like time-traveling back to the 13th century. The weather was just right—not too hot, so climbing all those steps was easy. Gareth was fantastic. He picked me up at the hotel and mixed history with humor perfectly. Plus, he speaks a bunch of languages and shared local tips and even some little gifts—nice touch! The views were stunning, and the ride back to Cardiff included an extra castle stop. The car was super clean, too! All in all, a great experience. Definitely recommend it!
Thank you so much. Very kind of you to review me on here
The guide was fantastic. Polite, helpful and full of great information. He let us go our own pace. I would do this again in a minute.
Thank you Julie. It was very interesting meeting you. Maybe I will see you in the future
