La Scolca Winery - An Exceptional Gavi Experience !
I have been on numerous trips to vineyards around the world over the last 30 or so years but this visit was easily the best.
We were joined by a lovely italian couple who graciously agreed to have Guido, our excellent host, to inform us in English which of course we appreciated.
Guidos enthusiasm for his subject was infectious, conveying in an easy to understand way a lot of interesting information about the wine making process, as well as the nuances of the wines produced at this historic and well run vineyard.
The wine tasting itself was hugely enjoyable, deepening my love and appreciation of the Cortese grape. Being a keen drinker of Gavi since thankfully being introduced to it by an italian business colleague some 25 years ago I left La Scolca respecting this grape considerably more.
I look forward to drinking some day, on a special occassion, the excellent wine that I purchased afterwards, and reflecting on a wonderful visit to the excellent La Scolca !

Winery a must for enthusiasts!
Beautiful winery. Visiting La Scolca Winery is an experience I recommend to all wine enthusiasts. Superlative location. Excellent wines, a benchmark for Gavi. History and modernity that intertwine harmoniously.

Wine tasting in Gavi
Guido our guide spoke excellent English, he was very knowledgeable, pleasant and easy to listen to. The tour was informative and enjoyable, would recommend if you want to get to know a local Gavi wine producer.

Beyond all expectations
Enthusiastic feedback for the experience we had yesterday at La Scolca.
We were welcomed with great professionalism by Guido, the Hospitality Manager. He himself explained the entire processing and production process to us in a clear, thorough, and engaging manner, without any rush and with a truly rare availability. Despite some unforeseen issues on our part, the staff met every one of our needs with extreme courtesy.
The location is stunning, immersed in a setting with breathtaking views, and the tasting was simply excellent. Guido accompanied us throughout the experience, conveying an authentic passion for his work, making every explanation interesting and engaging. All the people we met were kind, friendly, and professional, contributing to creating a welcoming, relaxing, and pleasant atmosphere that is felt throughout the company.
There are some aspects that particularly impressed us. The first is the cleanliness, truly impeccable, maintained with an uncommon attention. The location of the tasting is something unique: the beauty and class seen from the outside are perfectly reflected in the entire interior environment: something absolutely uncommon. Moreover, throughout the visit, there was never any pressure to purchase wine; on the contrary, we were the ones who asked where it was possible to do so. This demonstrates that the goal of the experience is to introduce the company reality, share their passion, and offer a quality tasting, not to sell at all costs; something that is often truly tiresome. We purchased the wine because we were excited by what we saw and especially because we tasted a product that was nothing short of remarkable.

Beautiful winery and fantastic visit
La Scolca is a beautiful winery. The represent the best of Gavi wines including metodo classico and riper wines. Guido conducted our tour and tasting with a fantastic mix of knowledge (of all wines Gavi and beyond) and enthusiasm. I would highly recommend to pay the extra € 5 to taste an extra glass, as the wines are all wonderful.

A place to go
Wonderful winery set in a beautiful setting. The tasting, which we accompanied with a lunch, met and perhaps even exceeded the already high expectations. All made even more interesting by the professionalism and hospitality that was reserved for us.

Dinner in the cold!
Dinner eulogy to the white truffle.
Evening to celebrate couple's anniversary, we were greeted with invitation to prepayment, something never seen before, shooting in Italy and abroad!
Waiting for an hour for dinner to start in the dining room with virtually non-existent heating throughout the evening, most guests dined wearing coats and furs.
Good food, although small portions, considering the amount spent, € 150 per person.
