Description
The Play That Goes Wrong introduces audiences to the Cornley Polytechnic Drama Society, a performance troupe attempting to put on a 1920s murder mystery. As the title suggests, it doesn’t go well, and the accident-prone thespians fight against all odds to make it to the curtain call.

Direct from a bafflingly successful run on London’s West End, this sidesplitting show-within-a-show will move you… from your house to the theater and back. Ben Brantley of The New York Times called it “A gut-busting hit!” and we only bribed him a little. If you thought One Man, Two Guvnors was the finest British comedy to ever cross the pond, The Play That Goes Wrong will prove you right.

Mediocre Performance Compared To The Original Broadway Show
I saw The Play That Goes Wrong years ago during its original Broadway run. It was an amazing and hilarious show so I was excited to see it again. Unfortunately, this 2026 Off Broadway cast and show did not rise to the level of the prior performance. The comedic timing of this cast didn’t feel as fluid with some of the bits feeling forced. Worst of all though were the number of young and pre-teens in the audience who were loud and obnoxious. The show is still a great piece of physical and set comedy with true laugh out loud moments. Maybe a Broadway revival would merit a better cast.

The show was very...
The show was very entertaining and interactive with the crowd. It had started and we didn't even know we were a part of it. I would recommend seeing it for a good laugh.

Laugh out loud
We enjoyed a professional production with laughs from start to finish. Talented group of actors. Quality performance for a fraction of what other shows cost.

Family Friendly & Hilarious
This is my second time seeing this production and it’s been HILARIOUS both times. The theater is cozy and we sat in the second row making it easy to see all the shenanigans on stage. There were several elementary aged kids at the show when we went and they seemed to be enjoying it as much as we did - what a great show to introduce kids to theater!
There are plenty of restrooms at the theater as well as a couple little bars downstairs. Overall a great experience both times I’ve visited.

Nice play!
It was a nice show. 2nd part of the show was much better and kept the audience’s attention in place.
