Good history stories. Entertaining guide. Though we did not get to enter any of the buildings, which would have been great. Wear good walking shoes.

Milwaukee's original haunted history walking tour introduces you to the unique heritage of the Historic Third Ward in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. The Third Ward, dubbed “The Bloody Third” in 1846, is a charming arts district today but conceals a violent gangster past. Once home to Milwaukee’s mafia operations and, before that, Irish gangsters, known as the Third Ward Cowboys, its streets have been touched by tragedy and the paranormal. Expect to learn more about paranormal happenings and ghost sightings at the Skylight Opera Theatre, the Italian Community Center, and MIAD, as well as many other lesser-known locations. Ghosts stories with Third Ward connections including supernatural encounters at the Hilton Garden Inn and the Pfister Hotel.
Meet on the corner St. Paul Avenue and Water Street for a history lesson they never taught you in school. Get glimpse of the scandalous 19th Century past of these streets when the area was nicknamed the Bloody Third.
Built in 1910, this building originally housed the F. Mayer Boot & Shoe Co. We keep the memory of a spectral little boy named Timmy alive. Over the years when the Institute of Beauty and Wellness occupied the building this wee ghost was blamed for many supernatural shenanigans.
The lovable yet ostentatious Clair Richardson founded the Skylight Music Theatre 1959. Although he died in 1980 before he could see his dream fully realized, his cremated remains have resided inside, in the Cabot Theatre’s trap room, since 1993. Many believe his spirit has returned. As in life, Clair loves to make his presence known.
This building was once known as the Pabst Brewing Co. Saloon and Boarding House. Perhaps the unfortunate "boarding house" label, a term that was often a euphemism for houses of ill repute, has led to its current reputation as a former brothel and the legend of the unlucky lady of the night who haunts it
Gossip about a harrowing late night elevator ride turns out to have some basis in fact. Who was the vanishing man in dusty overalls who allegedly vexed a writer for Milwaukee’s famous weekly newspaper the Shepherd Express?
Legends
An eerie encounter remains a mystery and adds to the intrigue surrounding The Marshall Building. The incident has left the employee and others wondering about the true nature of the apparition.
Many eerie occurrences have left students and teachers wondering if the building is haunted. Despite the unsettling experiences, the Milwaukee Institute of Art & Design continues to thrive as a center for creativity and learning.
The oldest building in The Third Ward contains one of its darkest ghost stories....
The Lady Elgin Memorial Marker in Milwaukee commemorates the tragic sinking of the steamship Lady Elgin on September 8, 1860. The disaster, which occurred on Lake Michigan, resulted in the loss of over 300 lives, making it one of the deadliest maritime disasters in Great Lakes history.

This tour was an intriguing combination of local history, stories of untimely ends, and a spooky introduction to Milwaukee's Historic Third Ward. The walking pace was leisurely, and our guide Carrie was very knowledgeable.
Thanks for joining us on a stroll through the spooky side of the Third Ward! We're thrilled you enjoyed the mix of history and hauntings and yes, Carrie really knows her stuff! Hope to see you on another walk soon! 👻
My husband and I were looking for something to do and booked a tour last minute and we are so glad we did! Tea was a great guide and we learned a lot about the haunted history of Milwaukee!
Last-minute plans = best plans! So glad you and your husband had a blast with Tea and soaked up Milwaukee’s haunted history. Thanks for walking with us! 👻
Yea, our guide was great. He knew lots of historical moments, not just ghost stories. My friend from Cleveland loved it.
Love that you and your friend had a great time! Our guides always bring the history and the haunts. Thanks for joining us in the Third Ward! 👻
Pretty cool stories about the haunted history. Not a bad way to spend a night for the price. The guide was fun!
Appreciate you coming out! Glad you had fun and enjoyed the spooky stories thanks for the review!
I can only review half of the tour as we left halfway through. Our tour guide was a nice lady but not a good story teller. Part of going on a ghost tour is to be spooked a little. She giggled and laughed at her own jokes the entire time. I was really looking forward to this tour. My recommendation is to a little research on google and do your own tour. It’s a cool idea but really poorly executed. Save your money.
This was the worst tour I’ve been on. The tour guide was NOT a good story teller , and the stories were super boring. Stayed for most of the tour because we felt bad and didn’t want to be rude.
The guide was very knowledgeable and entertaining. Loved hearing the sordid history of the area and walking around the downtown.
Hi Carol, thanks so much! We'll pass this feedback onto the guide.
Not an actual ghost tour but great history of the third ward and various tragic events that happened.
Thanks for joining The Original Milwaukee Ghost Walk! While it’s more about the history and stories behind the Third Ward than full-on ghost hunting, we’re glad you enjoyed the deep dive into the area’s past. History can be spooky in its own way! 👻
The tour focused on the "Bloody Third Ward". Originally an Irish area, a number of fires decimated many of the original structures before becoming what it is today. The guide provided several anecdotal stories about experiences, supplemented with copies of newspaper articles as sources.
