We were so lucky to have Josh as our tour guide as his passion for all things street art was really addictive!! Josh was so enthusiastic and knowledgeable about his craft that I would highly recommend this tour.
Really good tour, very interesting facts. The tour was meant to last 2 hours but only lasted 90 minutes, was fine for us but may not be what others were expecting. Really enjoyed the experience anyway as had never explored this part of London before. Would recommend!
Lots of info on street art and artists. We liked the tour very much.
Gaby is a great guide, many thanks! He's passionate about street art and graffiti, walking us through the history, character and vibrancy of the area through artists' lenses. It's also a great way to discover some characterful old streets, arts and murals that you can later return to, such a colourful and vibrant area. Well worth it.
We had a very interesting street art walk, with Gaby, and he really made the history of street art in London Come alive. The Day after we walked around the area, and our eyes suddenly caught a lot of art in the streets. Thank you!
It's a long walk over uneven walkway. Older folks may want to think twice. I'm 80 and walk three miles a day. Gabby did a great job and knew his street art.
Great tour and great tour guide. I was one of those that believed graffiti artists should all be locked up. My mind had been opened up to understanding the art, its culture and challenges. No hesitation in recommending tour.
Josh and the folks at Alternative London took me and our group on a phenomenal street art tour around East London today! We all met up at an easily accessible location under the I Goat statue, where Josh introduced himself to us as our tour guide. As he led us through the intricately thought-out tour path, his friendly demeanor and affable sense of humor illuminated each and every one of the fantastic street art pieces we visited. His deep, developed knowledge of street art not just in London but writ large allowed each of us, no matter how well versed we were or were not in street art culture to appreciate the long and storied history and culture of the very street art we were lucky enough to witness. At the end of the tour, Josh did an outstanding job wrapping up a comprehensive picture of our exploratory street art experience, was nice enough to take a picture with me, and led the remaining group safely to the studio workshop portion of the tour. Personally, I minored in street art during my postsecondary undergraduate tenure, so I already came with a general familiarity of street art. But my own knowledge of street art was eclipsed by Josh’s true understanding of street art and his passion for it. Overall, Josh and Alternative London put on an impressively thorough tour of the street art scene in London that I would absolutely and enthusiastically recommend to anyone passing through the UK. Thank you!!!
Excellent tour & a surprise at each street turn! Gabi our guide was extremely informative, differences between street art & graffiti, highlighting the different artists & styles, the history, traditions & respect for street art. He also talked about the history of the East End & the impact of each group of immigrants to the area. Highly recommend this tour, it opens your eyes to an artistically & culturally rich part of London not to be missed.
Great tour! Our guide Gary was superinformative about artists, techniques, and the history of Spitalfields.
