Fabulous experience, learned a lot and as a bonus had a lot of fun

It’s not hallucinogenic and doesn’t always come with a worm - Mezcal: Tequila’s smoky, mysterious, cool uncle. Despite Mezcal’s growing popularity in the liquor and cocktail scene, much of the product never even makes it to US or Canada due to trade restrictions and small batch quantities. This is your opportunity to try something new and see why this artisanal drink is receiving so much attention. A total of four quality, small distillery mezcals will be sampled throughout this hour and a half tasting.
Out at sunset: the 5:00 PM departure is under way when the sun sets, around 6:27 PM in the coming weeks.

Fabulous experience, learned a lot and as a bonus had a lot of fun
Exceptional tasting experience! Alex was extremely knowledgeable, patient and fun. We truly learned a lot and enjoyed trying many different agave spirits. Left with four bottles! It ended up only being the two of us, which was intimate and special. Great tasting room as well… clean, cool, well appointed, and the bar attached to it had an incredible array of agave spirits.
Thanks for the review!
I was pretty disappointed with this tasting, for a number of reasons. I went with some friends who have varying experience of tequila, but was surprised by the host's attitude, which was in contrast to the overall warmth and positivity I usually expect in the hospitality industry. On the one hand was the short, at times rude responses to our questions, and on the other was the cost of the tasting simply not reflecting the amount we were served. To try 5 different sprits and still receive less than a shot total was very strange; at the end we were asked what our favorite was, I thought because she would want to share more, since we received such a small amount compared with other tastings I've tried, but no. I feel bad for the host because I got the vibe that she wasn't that happy, or was going through something, but when your business is in tourism and hospitality, bringing a good attitude really matters. I wish her the best, and hope this was a fluke, but next time I'm in Vallarta, I'll be trying a different place.
Thank you for taking the time to write this review. Our tastings are intentionally designed as guided educational experiences. Each of the five spirits is poured at a full 1 oz measure, resulting in a total of 6 oz served over the course of the session. The portions are structured to allow guests to explore a range of expressions thoughtfully and responsibly, with an emphasis on production methods, regional differences, and proper tasting technique. We’re sorry to hear that you perceived the interaction as anything less than warm or welcoming. Hospitality is something we take seriously, and we consistently receive feedback highlighting the passion, depth of knowledge, and care that go into each experience. Our format is structured and educational, which can sometimes feel different from more casual or volume-focused tastings, and expectations can understandably vary. While we regret that the experience did not align with what you were hoping for, we do wish you the best in finding a tasting style that better suits your preferences on your next visit to Vallarta. Thank you again for joining us.
So goood! Karina is super knowledgeable and she put up with all of our stupid questions with a smile. It says i need 100 characters.
No questions are stupid!!! Enthusiasm is key to a great tasting and you delivered! Thank you!
Corinna is wonderful and so knowledgeable about Tequila and Mezcal. A really fun adventure and would recommend it to all! Loved her artisanal and small batch samples. All delicious.
Thank you so much for the review!
I am not a mezcal or tequila connoisseur and that has not changed, but the entire experience was wonderful. The setting, the presentation, the food pairings and the amount of knowledge shared was first class. I highly recommend the experience.
Thank you so much!
Wonderful tasting experience. Learned an amazing amount, in a beautiful setting. Host was so knowledgeable!!!
thank you so much for these kind words!
Edgar is very knowledgeable and entertaining. You will learn the history of Mezcal, Tequila and Raicilla and taste amazing Mezcal. It is an incredibly interesting and fun time!
Thanks for the review!
This was amazing. Corinna (the owner) was incredible. She was responsive and helpful and made the experience unbelievable. We would do this again and again. If you have any interest - please go see this place. Personable and knowledgable and an intimate experience.
I am so pleased I could provide an “unbelievable experience “ for you! Thanks for the review
If you’re looking for a tequila or mezcal tasting in an intimate setting, then this is the one. We've lived in Vallarta since 2022, so we've done our share of tastings, but this one was different. It was laid back and informative. Corinna, the owner, translated everything and made us feel like we were friends at a backyard party, not patrons. We attended a special event mezcal tasting at Vallarta Tequila Tasting, and it was one of our favorites. We got to pair mezcal with raw and cooked oysters, which was an unexpectedly delightful combination for us. The event was well-organized, with great service in a cool and personal setting. We got to meet the mezcalero and learn about each kind we tasted. Additionally, he provided us with tips on how to distinguish a good mezcal from a bad one.
So glad Vallarta Tequila Tastings could provide a unique tasting for you! Thanks for the review!
