Mark Venaglia is an outstanding tour guide. He is incredibly upbeat, knowledgeable, and went above and beyond to make sure we got the absolute most out of our visit to the Met. He explained the exhibits and art in a way that was both engaging and easy to follow, and he constantly pointed out fascinating details and historical context we would have completely missed on our own. He gave us a wonderful grounding in the museum’s history and was extremely personable the entire time. Best of all, he customized the tour exactly to what we wanted to see and do. I can’t recommend him highly enough — we will definitely work with him again on future visits.
The tour guide was very rude and insulted the people around us. It was embarrassing for my guests.
We took a wonderful private tour with Mark V, who was energetic and enthusiastic and conveyed interesting material both to my friend - who’d never been to the Met before - and to me (who has been there lots). As we were 2 women, I loved that he made sure to stop and analyze women painters, female subjects, and women pharaohs. He introduced us to the marvelous painter Henry Tanner. My friend was able to see the museum’s most famous highlights as well. We had a fun time finding some surprising objects in the painting of Washington Crossing the Delaware (a painting we thought we knew since grade school). Best way to introduce someone to an art museum! Thanks Mark!
Kevin was so knowledgeable. A good story teller. Kept a good pace. Respectful. Can’t wait to tour with him again.
Kevin was amazing and gave us a huge experience on the top point of MET !
Michael C was an excellent tour guide. He was extremely knowledgeable and has a heart for all things art! I highly recommend you booking this tour. It was a highlight of our trip!
This tour experience with Charlie was an educational and cultural adventure. Charlie shared context and education that brought the art to life. A true highlight of our trip to NYC. Thank you, Charlie & Babylon tours!
Our tour guide, Jonathan, was amazing. His way of telling the stories behind each highlight was engaging and incredibly knowledgeable. Every piece he selected to discuss was fascinating, and my daughter loved every minute of the tour. We learned so many interesting facts, and the interactions between Jonathan and the group made the experience unforgettable. I will never forget the two faces of Van Gogh and the story behind the museum’s most expensive painting. Never visit without a guide—you will miss so much valuable information!
Catherine was a gracious and energetic tour guide. She was so well-versed on the displays that we wound up taking notes. The best thing is that her energy and awareness has encouraged us to visit the museum again. There’s no way to take it all in in just a few hours.
This was my first visit to The Met and I knew it was huge. The guide was very informative & made the tour fun not just a bunch of facts. He stressed that you can not do the whole Met in one day so we would be seeing some of his favorite go to exhibits. The tour size was small (8) so easy to hear & stay together.
