Great experience . We booked the evening tour. It was very informative. Did not expect to have the lights switched off to see what the darkness in the tunnel is like but a cool Experiencne

Cool experience and great tour guides. Easy to navigate and has everything you need for any ages. Would highly recommend.
We had an amazing trip to Iceland to celebrate my wife's birthday. The highlight of this was absolutely our trip to the Lava Tunnel. Our guide Frederick (I'm sorry, I believe this was his name!) was excellent, funny and very engaging. He told us he had been guiding there for only 2 months, but his knowledge was outstanding with regard to the geological phenomena at hand. When arriving at the location you will find an open carpark, and a lone shack. But don't be fooled, the real location is under your feet and shaped by forces beyond your imagination! As you enter you will be provided a hard hat, complete with little lamp to make you feel like a real caver! You will also be offered a walking stick, as the ground is very uneven in places. You will also require some sturdy footwear (walking boots or trainers at least). Also a nice warm coat (it is Iceland after all! and its cold down there!). We visited on the 1pm tour on September 2nd, and really enjoyed. Thanks so much Frederick, for a fabulous experience.
Enjoy the whole trip with my family. Awesome 👍
The tour was great. Booking online was super easy. My timing changed and they were very accommodating to let me jump on a tour one hour earlier than my pre-reserved time. The guide was friendly and kept the mood light, and I had the level of learning experience and fun that I was looking for. Highly recommended!
Benjamin is a great guide! Took time to explain every single detail about those caves and gave us tips on what to do for the rest of our vacation! Thank you! 😊
Great experience of walking through huge lava tunnels. The highlight was our guide Dimitri, who explained everything with lots of humour
One of the most beautiful experiences I had while visiting the south of Iceland. Friendly and professional guide and a unique place. Inside, the temperature is a constant 5° all year round. Dressed well, you feel great. Absolutely not to be missed!
Definitely a great experience! Our guide ( I forget his name), but he was dramatic and funny and informative. I did not realize that the walk is super uneven and you climb metal stairs up and down. I'm afraid of heights, so super challenging for me! I would not bring kids younger than 6 for sure. We drove ourselves, and there is zero signage until about 500 m from the entrance! It is waaay out there! A little tip, bring a toque or some other head covering. The helmets are shared between tours and not cleaned. Definitely different levels of cleanliness between people! Downfall was the filthy bathrooms that no one was taking responsibility for.
This is not your average cave tour since the lava tube is not your average cave. Our guide was enthusiastic and helpful with information and answers to questions and was accommodating of the various foibles of those on the tour. It was very interesting to learn about the formation of the lava tube and the various features that were pointed out. A highlight was turning out the lights and standing in silence listening to the ‘sounds’ of the tube. Although there are metal stairs and walkways, several people struggled with the terrain and some turned back. Because the guide had to help with this the rest of the group were left standing around for some time. I would recommend the venue to send two guides per group so that they our can continue for everyone else. Having said that we got longer down in the tube. Overall this was a great tour
