THINK TWICE BEFORE BOOKING WITH THIS COMPANY I booked this HiddenCity experience through TripAdvisor as a birthday activity for today. Unfortunately, the ticket I received was for tomorrow. It appears that when purchasing through the TripAdvisor experience section, the booking transfers to HiddenCity and flips the date to the following day. I thought this would be a simple issue to resolve, so I contacted TripAdvisor chat while travelling to the starting location to ask for the booking to be moved to today. Unfortunately, this turned into a very frustrating experience. * There is no effective telephone support — the number provided does not accept incoming calls. * I sent an email but received no response. * I sent two Facebook Messenger messages. Despite an automatic response saying they would reply within a couple of hours, nobody followed up. * I contacted TripAdvisor’s help chat and spent over an hour trying to resolve the problem. * TripAdvisor said they would contact HiddenCity on my behalf, but HiddenCity had not responded to them. We had travelled specifically to London for this activity and it was a birthday gift, so I felt under considerable pressure to find a solution. The birthday boy really wanted to do the experience, so, very reluctantly, I ended up buying another set of tickets for today via Hidden City (don’t trust TA after the date flipping) We have therefore effectively had to pay twice because of a booking/date issue that neither company has been able to resolve. What makes this even more frustrating is TripAdvisor’s suggestion that we simply do the original booking again tomorrow. What a stupidly stupid suggestion. We came specifically to London for this activity — telling us to come back and do it again another day is not a reasonable solution, particularly when I had made it very clear that we were on our way. At the time of writing, we are still waiting to see whether HiddenCity or TripAdvisor will actually take responsibility and provide a satisfactory resolution. The experience itself may well be ok, but the customer service and support when something goes wrong have been extremely disappointing. If you are considering booking, my advice would be to think twice because if you have a problem, there does not appear to be an effective way of getting help. Very disappointing, frustrating and, so far, unnecessarily expensive.

Just to clarify, Tripadvisor doesn’t allow same-day bookings for our games, and bookings do not automatically move to the following day. The available booking date is shown when making the booking. We did experience staffing issues on the day you played, which affected our response times, and we’re sorry we weren’t able to get back to you when you needed us. Allow plenty of time particularly with young kids. The tour was great but got a bit listless and tired towards the end. Would have given a four, but for the fact they request five star reviews by offering discounts for your next visit.

This was the third hidden city game we have played, having previously done the James Bond and Sherlock Holmes themed challenges. These were both great and the Hunt for the Cheshire Cat maintained the high level of fun. A quirky storyline with twists and turns showing many sights across London. The clues were a mix of levels of difficulty and as such made it a great day. The stops were well planned and allowed for a nice break from the afternoon sun whisky still solving clues. Highly recommended to all if you want a fund day out.
Lots of fun, for kids (8 and 11) and parents. Thoughtfully designed, everything worked well, and the service we received before we finally signed up was excellent. Definitely recommend.
The Cat made us walk 4 hours.... had the best day. Enjoyed all the puzzles. For a person living in London, I found this soooooo enjoyable. I would definitely do this again. Great for visitors or a local. Happy day well spent :)
Is such a great way to connect with friends and explore the city! Great mix of challenge without feeling like you’re in an escape room and need to be given a million clues! Think would also be fun with a big group and divide into teams to make it more of a challenge! Would do again 100%
This is the third HiddenCity we have completed after 007 and Moriarty. As usual the game was excellent with really good clues and a superb route. We got to visit places we hadn't been to before. The staff in all the establishments played their part well too. I would highly recommend
Wow, what an absoluly BRILLIANT experience. The clues were so clever, and clearly a lot of time and effort had been put into the game. Plus you get to visit parts of London that you wouldn't normally see! It was just the right level of difficulty, and the interaction with the people along the way (e.g. in the bars/cafes) made the game feel super immersive. I'd thoroughly recommend it - we're already looking into doing another one soon!
We were tired and didn't want to give the game a good effort...plus it was fairly tough for me and my teenager. We just wanted something that would show us London in a fun way but it was not doing that. It just took us down a bunch of alleyways until we gave up.
Fantastic experience from start to finish. Loves the interaction with the shops, cafes and pubs... Also loved the use of props. Just the 007 experience left to complete the set.
