The Essential Oslo Private Walking Tour

This may have been the best walking excursion we have ever had. It lasted just over the advertised 4 hours and it was spectacular. Very much worth the price of the tour. Our guide was super knowledgeable about Oslo, its history, and the ins and outs of that beautiful city. It was right before the funeral of the King and our guide took us to all aspects of this important national and cultural event. If we are ever back in Oslo again we would do this excursion again, but only with her. She was a lawyer from Poland who now lives in Oslo and she loves her adopted country and it came through in our spectacular tour.

We (6 adults and 2 boys aged 13 and 10) arrived on a cruise ship and were already met by Gerd at the port. She was a fantastic tour guide and informed us about her city of Oslo and the country of Norway with a lot of wit, charm, and personal stories. Since Gerd speaks perfect German, we were all—including our children—very well entertained. It was an unforgettable day for all of us, but also for Gerd, as this tour took place only a few days after the death of King Harald. The whole city was therefore full of mourners who wanted to leave a final tribute to their king at the palace. Thank you very much, dear Gerd, for the great 3-hour tour across the city! We will keep very fond memories of Oslo and hope to be able to return to this beautiful city in the future.

We had limited time in Oslo, and our private walking tour was the perfect way to see the city and learn more about its history. Our tour guide, Sigrid, was excellent and tailored the tour to our interests. She offered a wealth of information and we learned a lot. Sigrid also provided valuable advice about what else to see while in Oslo and even guided one of our group members back to our hotel on public transit.

​We wanted to love this tour, and our guide was incredibly nice, but the experience fell short of our expectations. The tour lacked a clear, engaging route with the steady stream of facts and commentary we've typically enjoyed on similar city tours. Our guide was very quiet and struggled a bit with English fluency, which made it hard to hear and stay engaged. There were also several instances where historical details were conflicting or unclear. The guide has great potential because of their warm personality, but the tour definitely needs a bit more structural preparation and factual polishing.

Anastasia was a fantastic guide. Meeting up at our hotel was very easy and timely. She was very friendly and extremely knowledgeable. Our three and half hours was at a perfect pace, visiting the major points of interest around the city center. She shared enjoyable nuggets of information along the way.

This was an outstanding personalized tour of Oslo. We were met right at our cruise ship by Anastasia, and for the next 3 hours, we enjoyed a leisurely, deeply informative walk through the city and its sites. Anastasia possessed a keen knowledge of Norway's history, as well as the cultural influences of its neighbors.
