Itinerary

Devil's Door - Puerta del Diablo
Admission included180 min

We continue with a relaxed hike through the Planes de Renderos trails, where you’ll enjoy fresh air, nature, and stunning lookout points overlooking the valley and surrounding mountains. On clear days, you can also enjoy sweeping views of Lake Ilopango, the Pacific Ocean, and even the distant Chaparrastique Volcano. It’s a perfect spot for photos and taking in the landscape.

60 min

Next, we visit the charming colonial town of Panchimalco. You'll explore the historic Santa Cruz de Roma Church, built in the 17th century and known as one of the oldest colonial churches in El Salvador. Here, you’ll learn about its traditional architecture and the strong Indigenous heritage of the community.

60 min

As the final stop of the tour, lunch at Cadejo Brewing Company Mountain is the perfect way to end the experience on a high note. Here, the highlight is the Salvadoran-style steak, grilled to perfection and served with traditional sides like chimol (fresh tomato relish), rice, beans, handmade tortillas, and sweet plantains. It’s a flavorful combination that truly showcases the essence of local cuisine—hearty, authentic, and satisfying. You can pair your meal with a local craft beer from Cadejo, creating the perfect match between grilled meats and artisanal flavors, all while enjoying the fresh mountain air and scenic views. Wonderful!

Wonderful excursion. Jorge communicates with you well before your trip. The breakfast cafe has AMAZING food and views. The hike isn’t really a hike, but it’s a lovely view at the top! The best part was going to the colonial town and seeing daily life in El Salvador. Jorge is very knowledgeable! Overall a very wonderful day.

FANTASTIC YOUR!

The hubby and I were picked up by our tour driver, Jorge. He was actually early! His vehicle was clean and he ensured we were comfortable with the AC. Jorge was very informative, professional and knowledgeable about his country and the sites we visited. Jorge took photos of us at each stop, was very patient while we climbed the Devils Gate. The coffee stop at Itaku was great along with the views! The lunch stop was amazing as well as the views. I definitely recommend this tour. I suggest dressing comfortable and wearing good hiking shoes/sneakers. Thank you Jorge for a great tour!

Good tour

Initially it was bit of hassle coordinating with the tour guide but i understand its an overwhelming business. Once he picked me, the whole tour was very smooth. I really appreciate how Jorge was so patient and gave us enough time to explore for each stop.

I had an absolutely fabulous day with Jorge! He was very willing to customize (and even extend the tour with an additional hike, but my schedule didn't allow it) since this was a private tour. He has many ideas for hikes, and even brought a drone during the hikes to capture fabulous videos of me and the surrounding scenery. It was a great pleasure to spend the day with him!

Above and Beyond – Highly Recommend!

This was an amazing tour! Jorge was an excellent guide; very knowledgeable and thoughtful. He took tons of photos and videos and even brought a drone for some incredible shots. We ate delicious local food, went on a great hike to Puerta del Diablo, visited a historical church, and even got surprise access to the bell tower. I also asked him about the local art scene, and he went out of his way to ask around. Because of that, I got to meet two local artists and visit their workspaces. This was truly one of the best tours I’ve ever had, and a big part of that was Jorge. Highly recommend!

Great tour; Jorge is an excellent guide

Jorge was an amazing guide. He is knowledgeable about the towns, food, and geographical feature along the tour. He is also extremely conscientious: varying the pace of the hike when I needed to, offering sunscreen, water, and bathroom breaks more often than I needed them, and being punctual. He even stopped at a couple museums I was interested in and paid the entry fee for me when they wouldn't accept a credit card and then took me through the museums and dropped me off at my hotel. The views were spectacular, and the food was excellent. You'll be in good hands with Jorge if you pick this tour.

Best medium level hike

I had the best experience on this private tour hiking to Devils gate with Jorge. Jorge is very personable and assisted me through the hike as a beginner. He also took me to the best cafe before beginning our journey to the first stop at the church. After the hike, we also got to go to a beautiful restaurant that he recommended. Overall, this tour was amazing and made my first trip to El Salvador amazing. !!! Highly recommend this tour. It gives the best views of all of El Salvador with the mountains.
