The Best Two Day Tours in Ireland: The Ring of Kerry and Dingle Slea Head Tours

We spent 12 days this August 2026 in Ireland. It was our first time in Ireland and it will not be our last! Our tour with Gerard Scott /Kilarney Guided Tours was the highlight of our trip. If you want to go to Ireland and have a visit filled with not only tourism but local flavor his tours cannot be beat! He worked closely with us to plan each of our days. One of the splendid things we did that was off the beaten path was a Killarney Bee Walk with the delightful Tim. The tour finished with a honey tasting and fresh baked scones provided by his wife. A must do in the beautiful village of Killarney! Gerard drove us to all the sites and provided so much background and history about the lovely south west coast of Ireland. His warm nature and sense of humor made our daily excursions so much fun. He was so flexible and could really navigate those Irish roads with ease. He really made our trip one to never forget!

From our very first emails, I felt so grateful to have him in my corner. I was planning a trip for my parents and teenage kids with no idea where to begin, and Gerard helped shape the entire itinerary, from choosing tours to even advising us on the best airport. His guidance was invaluable. Since we didn’t have outside transportation, Gerard made sure we got to a grocery store when we arrived, took us to an amazing restaurant, and even arranged extra transportation so we could attend the Celtic Dancers Show. We felt like family from the start. He knew everyone in town, including the owners of our Airbnb, which made us feel even more at ease. And when we unexpectedly had to go to the hospital one night, Gerard answered all my questions and even swung by to pick us up from the hospital before our next tour. Beyond all of that, he is incredibly knowledgeable and brought Ireland to life for us. He guided us through Killarney, the Ring of Kerry, the Dingle Peninsula, and the Cliffs of Moher with wonderful stops along the way. He showed us places we never would have found on our own, shared so much history, and gave us plenty of laughs. Ireland is stunning, but Gerard is the reason this trip became a cherished memory for our entire family. We cannot thank him enough for everything he did for us.

My wife and I were looking for a small group or private tour of the Killarney area and stumbled onto these folks via internet searches and ChatGBT. What an incredible find!!! Extremely knowledgeable and accommodating. When trying to schedule our 1st day, we were going to take a taxi from the train station, drop our bags at the hotel, grab lunch, then meet for our tour. As soon as our guide, Girard, knew our plans, he immediately had us change our plans so that he would pick us up at the train station and allow for hotel check in and lunch before beginning the tour. Over a 2 day period, Girard provided us with an abundance of local and Irish history, recommended excellent food options throughout the tour and allowed us to get to know his family. If you’re planning a visit to the Killarney area and are looking for a private guide, you will not be able to find a finer service. Even though we had our own vehicle, we booked two days with Killarney Guided Tours because we wanted to to get a local perspective as we soaked in the scenery. Gerard's tours were everything we hoped for and more. Gerard's easy going personality made us feel comfortable from the very beginning. His knowledge of the area and history helped us to get the most out of our visit to the area. As we visited in the van, he was able to get a grasp on the kinds of things we were interested. When he learned we were fascinated with some of the churches we had seen, he included a couple more and was able to give us background history on the significance of the church. Our trip to Blasket Island visitor's center told another story of Irish history that we had not heard before. As we drove, he would tell stories about the history of Ireland along with some of the folklore. There is no doubt that the money and time we spent with Gerard was well worth the investment.

We had a group of 6 women. To say Gerard was patient is an understatement. He was also very knowledgable, accommodating and overall made the experience better than I expected. I can not say enough positive things about our time in Ireland & Killarney Guided tours

My wife and I booked 5 days with Gerard Scott for our first trip to Ireland; this included the Dingle Peninsula, The Ring of Kerry, The Cliffs of Moher as well as travel to Kilkee and Galway. Our objective was just to eliminate the driving to simplify our travel experience while exploring the southwest coast of Ireland. However, we were rewarded with so much more than a driver. Gerard has a lifetime of experience in this area and brought us to the planned attractions but also included unexpected stops at less well known spots (less crowds) to accommodate my photography interests. His suggestions for restaurants and live music were excellent, also enhancing our evening Irish experience. My wife has some Irish ancestry, but had very little idea of where they came from; just a name with birth and death dates. Gerard was able to determine the town of her ancestor's birth and included that town along the way. He was flexible and included things which we would find interesting based on his interaction with us. I suspect that other travelers might see different things based on their interests. It seemed that he learned our interests quickly allowing him to modify our experience on the fly. Because he has been living and working around Killarney all his life, he knows the people in the area as well as the places. This allowed us access to places or options that others might not have due to his relationships; everybody likes Gerard! Traveling with a photographer like myself can get tedious as we try to get the perfect point of view, lighting, etc. He made it easy on my wife by taking me to the perfect spot for each attraction (he is also a photographer) then chatting with her about the spot while I lined up my shots. He also lined up my wife for some better shots than I got. He also provided guidance for the time after he left us in Galway and for our time in Dublin. Simply put he was easy company with a deep knowledge of Ireland and a quick read of other people to allow him to fine tune your trip.

The agency needs to improve its coordination and customer service. There were multiple small issues that added up and affected the experience. The tour guide lacked enthusiasm. Not something I would highly recommend.

Gerard was awesome! He was very knowledgeable and passionate about his part of Ireland, which made our time with him very enjoyable!

We booked Gerard for a two day tour from Galway to Killarney. He is a phenomenal guide. Knows every inch of the Ring of Kerry, is a great story teller, and is very in-tune with his guest's interests and energy levels (super important when traveling with kids). Also has a great van. I was also very interested in doing some genealogy and Gerard worked with me both before and after our trip. Long story short, with his help I was able to apply and obtain Irish citizenship.

Gerard Scott was an awesome tour guide. He was very familiar with The Killarney area. We spent 2 full days visiting lots of very special and scenic spots in and around The Ring of Kerry and beyond. I highly recommend Gerard for anyone interested in seeing and learning about this beautiful country.
