Tetebatu Walking Tour - Rice Terraces, Waterfall & Monkey Forest

Kiki and Eddy were wonderful! Kiki texted me beforehand to let me know he would be my driver. He gave me an overview of the tour in the car, and when I realized I needed a swimsuit he kindly turned the car around and took me back to the hotel to get it (which saved the day!) he taught me all about Lombok, the farming, the culture, and answered all of my questions. He had chilled water for me and charged my phone and stopped if I wanted to take a photo. Eddy was a great tour guide. We walked through fields and around rice paddies and up hills and over irrigation ditches. He made sure I didn't slip or fall. The waterfalls were absolutely beautiful and refreshing to swim in and Eddy let me swim as long as I wanted to. The Monkey Forest was very cool and we saw very active black monkeys (Javan lutung). Overall it was so much more beautiful than I expected. I had an amazing day. A few things: I was traveling solo but there was no option for one person so I had to pay for 2 people, which makes it more expensive if you are solo. Bring a swimsuit and watershoes for the waterfalls (you have to walk through a stream to get to the first one). You will be walking through fields, so if you have sensitive skin I recommend wearing pants or at least tall socks.

We had a really great excursion on Lombok and can absolutely recommend the tour! The organization was super and everything went smoothly from start to finish. A special thank you goes to our driver Kiki and our guide Eddy – both were totally likable, reliable, and did a really great job. A real highlight was observing the black monkeys. An excursion that is very much worth it. Kiki and Eddy were very kind throughout the day and explained everything very well. The experience was very local and authentic. We were able to see how coffee is ground and roasted with rice, in addition to learning about the entire coconut oil production process. They also let us try coffee and coconut, which was a great touch. We visited the rice terraces, surrounded by many fruit trees, and also the monkey forest. The monkeys were quite shy and many were high up in the trees, so you had to look closely to find them 🐒🌳. Afterward, we saw two quite beautiful waterfalls and they gave us lunch. The transportation was well organized and everything was quite comfortable. I am 21 years old and I went with my mother, who is 57, and we found the walk manageable. Mind you, if you are looking for an intense hiking expedition or to walk for many hours, this is not that type of excursion. It is more of an experience to get to know nature, culture, and local life in a relaxed way. Overall, a highly recommended experience if you want to get to know a more authentic part of Tetebatu. The driver and the guide were super great and the trip was amazing

We had the most amazing day!!! Kiki, our driver, picked us up from our hotel in Kuta and drove us to Tetebatu. He was so friendly and fun to chat with and even had cold drinks ready for us. Once we arrived, our guide Kholidi took over, and we honestly couldn’t have wished for a better guide. We spent 8 hours with a lot of laughing, chatting, exploring and learning. It was such a fun and memorable day! We would 100% recommend this tour to everyone. Thank you Kiki and Kholidi for an unforgettable day! ❤️

Thank you Kiki and Eddy for this unforgettable experience in the green heart of Lombok. We felt welcomed by them and the local people of tetebatu and learned so much about this region. Every step of the tour was beautiful and interesting.

We had a wonderful walking tour with our guide Eddie! He showed us everything and answered all our questions and we really enjoyed our day! Also our driver Kiki was great, he explained to us a lot while driving and we always felt safe during our 4h car ride with him. Thank you for a great day!

A fantastic day exploring Tetebatu and the monkey forest. Everything was processionally run from being picked up to being dropped off at our villa in Kuta. Our driver was cautious and very approachable. Our guide Holide absolutely made this experience perfect. He was very knowledgeable, spoke great English and was really fun to be around. Lunch was delicious and the waterfalls were beautiful. Great to see the black monkeys and also to go into the local villages and watch/help make local coffee and drink it. Watching the process of how the coconuts are processed into oil was also really interesting. I couldn’t recommend this trip highly enough. Once again Holide our guide was the best.

It was a great excursion for the whole family, beautiful landscapes and very interesting to learn about the local culture. We were able to see the black monkeys very well in the Monkey Forest and the food was very good too, special mention to our driver Kiki, very kind and always ready for whatever we might need, and Eddy and Pat, our guides during the route, always attentive to ensure we were comfortable and who explained everything phenomenally. 100% recommended
