Teotihuacan Sunrise Tour from Mexico City

Description
This is not just a tour — it’s a designed experience. Led by a certified local guide, you’ll explore Teotihuacán beyond the surface, understanding not only its history but the deeper meaning behind its architecture, energy, and symbolism. Before heading to the pyramids, we’ll make a stop at one of Mexico City’s most popular bakeries, where you can grab a coffee and something delicious for the journey. We go beyond the main pyramids. You’ll visit Tetitla, an ancient barrio where preserved murals reveal how people once lived, while the atmosphere still carries the deeper essence of this great civilization. Small groups, authentic storytelling, and a more personal approach make this experience feel exclusive, even in a shared setting. If you’re looking for something real, meaningful, and unforgettable — this is it.

Now it’s time to head toward Teotihuacán. As we leave Mexico City, you’ll notice the transition between three layers of Mexico — the country, the vibrant capital, and the State of Mexico. Along the way, you’ll see how the landscapes, architecture, and everyday life begin to change, giving you a deeper perspective of the region before arriving at the ancient city.
You’ll visit the archaeological site of Teotihuacán with a certified guide, where you’ll have the opportunity to climb and take in the true magnitude of this ancient city. We’ll walk along the Avenue of the Dead, visit the Pyramid of the Sun, and step into Tetitla, an ancient barrio where murals reveal how this great civilization once lived.
To finish, you’ll discover one of the most beautiful and powerful temples of Teotihuacán — the Temple of the Feathered Serpent. After that, we’ll return to Mexico City, bringing this journey full circle, with a deeper appreciation for this ancient civilization.

Had so much fun was such a beautiful experience. We had a great guide who got us good deals and was very knowledgeable about the city. Our Spanish wasn't great, so it was very helpful that he was bilingual. We had so much fun and took so many pictures with the statues and buildings and saw a lot of beautiful churches.
Thank you so much for your kind words! It was truly a pleasure spending the day with you. You were such wonderful people, and honestly, guests like you make my job even more enjoyable. 😊 I’m really happy you had a great time, learned a little more about Mexico, and took some beautiful memories home with you. I hope our paths cross again someday — there’s always more of Mexico to discover! 🇲🇽❤️
We had such a great time! Hermes took us all over Mexico City and taught us all about its history. He knew everything and everyone. You can tell he’s passionate about history and also makes sure you get to see everything you want. He knows the best spots too, whether it’s for tacos, churros, or souvenirs!
Thank you so much for this beautiful review! ❤️ I truly enjoyed spending the day with you guys. By the end of the tour, it honestly felt less like I was your guide and more like an uncle showing his nieces around Mexico City. 😊 I’m so happy you enjoyed the history, the places we visited, and of course the tacos and churros! It was a very special day for me too. Take care of yourselves, keep traveling, and remember you’ll always have a friend — or your Mexican uncle Hermes 😂🇲🇽 — waiting for you here in Mexico!
Bruno and Kevin were so hospitable, offering so much fascinating information about the area while we were driving. They took care to make sure everyone had water and other needs met. At one point I fell and seriously hurt my knee, so Kevin drove us to a pharmacy and then tended to my wound. Somehow, Bruno kept the tour on time and fun for everyone!
Thank you so much for your kind words! We truly appreciate you taking the time to share your experience. It means a lot to our team that Bruno and Kevin were able to make your day enjoyable, even with the unexpected situation. We hope your knee is feeling much better now. It was a pleasure having you with us.
Hermes was super friendly and attentive the whole trip, willing to give us a lot of information and interesting facts. He also gave us recommendations for the rest of the trip. Of course we would hire him again.
Hermes is a great guide, full of patience and good energy, highly recommended.
We had a wonderful time on this tour. It was so convenient to have a central pick up point, stop for a coffee and pastry and then have a comfortable ride to Teotihuacan. We heard a bit about the greater Mexico City area on the way. It was great to show up to the site at opening time because it was quiet and cool. We also got to visit a lesser known site to see more about how people lived. Gio was so knowledgeable. Not only did he share a lot of context and information about what we were seeing, but he also shared information about the history and currently challenges related to uncovering the temples. He clearly has a deep wealth of knowledge because he also shared the wider context of Mesoamerican history and archaeology and answered many questions. I couldn’t recommend this tour more.
you so much for your wonderful review! It means a lot to hear that you enjoyed the early access experience and all the little details that make this tour special. I’ll be sure to share your kind words with Giovanny—he’ll be thrilled to know he helped make your visit memorable. We truly appreciate your recommendation and hope to welcome you back to Mexico someday! 🇲🇽
I am from Costa Rica and I can attest that he is one of the best guides we have had on our visits to Mexico. The attention, the communication, and how comfortable we felt with him were exceptional. I recommend him 1000%!
Muchísimas gracias por tus lindas palabras! 😊 Fue un placer compartir esta experiencia con ustedes. Me alegra saber que disfrutaron. Espero volverlas a ver de nuevo en México muchas gracias !
Hermes was great! A positive and friendly guide; was respectful towards all, the history, the temples, to us, others, and the animals. He has a beautiful soul. Will definitely use Hermes again and recommend to all friends and family. Loved the fact that we stopped at a panaderia first.
Thank you so much for your kind review! Your words truly mean a lot to me. Thank you for sharing this special day with me and for meeting my little friends, the Guardians of Teotihuacán 🐾. They are part of every journey and always remind us to respect nature. I hope to welcome you back for another unforgettable adventure in Mexico. Until next time! 🇲🇽 Gracias
Our tour consisted of our family of 3, a couple, and Hermes (our guide). We rode comfortably in Hermes’ vehicle, which fit all six of us. His car has air conditioning and he provided us with bottles of water. We started with a stop at Panaderia Rosetta, so that we could buy coffee and bread for the ride. The drive was about 45 minutes at that time (7am) of morning. Hermes allowed us different opportunities to use the bathroom. Of course, the tour itself was great. He is very knowledgeable and because we had a small group, we could ask questions as they came up. After visiting the three pyramids, Hermes took us to a nearby barrio with ancient hieroglyphics on the walls. We also stopped for water, snacks, and a bathroom break before heading back to CDMX. We met Hermes at 7am, and were back at our meeting point by 2pm. I plan to recommend Hermes to anyone who plans a visit. ¡Gracias, Hermes!
Thank you so much for your kind words! It was truly a pleasure sharing this experience with you. We really appreciate your recommendation and hope to welcome you back to Mexico soon. We’ll be here waiting to create more unforgettable experiences with you. Safe travels! 🇲🇽
