Starting in a private vehicle from your accommodation, we will leave Mexico City early to avoid city traffic and crowds at the pyramids. Our route around the site will include an in-depth examination of the three most significant Teotihuacan structures: the pyramids of Luna, Sun and Feathered Serpent. Our expert certified guide will delve into the stories, traditions and sacred rights that date back to the classical Mesoamerican era. We will have the option of climbing the steep steps of a pyramid, where our guide can point out the geographical influence of Teotihuacan in the neighboring regions. Hector made this tour. My family and I spent a morning at Teotihuacán with him, and his knowledge of the site — culture, architecture, history, even archaeoastronomy — turned a walk among ruins into something far richer. On our own we would have looked at the pyramids and left. With Hector we saw the feathered serpent carvings, the puma mural, and sections where the original color still survives, each with the context that made it matter. If you're deciding whether the private tour is worth it: it is, and ask for Hector.
We booked the private tour the day before the visit. It was very easy to do and once it was confirmed, our tour guide Miguel messaged us immediately with details. We got picked up at our hotel and the tour started there! Miguel provided fun facts and historical information as we drove to the pyramids. Once there, Miguel continued providing very interesting facts and information about the pyramids that we would have never learned on our own. Highly recommend this tour experience!

Aldo and our driver arrived at 8 AM in a very comfortable minivan and took us to Teotihuacan. He started explaining interesting facts about the areas we drove through in Mexico City, all the way up to our initial destination, and once we were there, he continued sharing the most interesting, clear, and fascinating details about the culture, the people, the rituals, and the structures that we were visiting. His English is excellent and he makes it incredibly interesting. He asked us what we wanted and didn’t want and curated the tour accordingly. He is also an excellent photographer and took pictures of my family throughout the tour. We really loved the tour and would recommend him wholeheartedly.
We really enjoyed our time at Teotihuacan with Iván. This is a very special place, and he knew many interesting details that we never would have learned without him. Everything went smoothly, and he did a great job of communicating with us ahead of time, as well as accommodating us with a toddler. Thanks, Iván! The mezcal/pulque tasting was a fun treat at the end of the day.
