Description
The English Lake District is one of the most recent additions to UNESCO’s World Heritage List. Admire the rolling countryside and craggy fells whilst listen to your guide about the Lake District's history, geology and the people that have shaped this much-loved region. Along the way, you will pass some of the region’s most spectacular sights, such as the Borrowdale Valley, Buttermere, Honister pass, and Grasmere. There are many stops on route; a highlight is the Castlerigg Stone Circle with its panoramic views. Our friendly driver/guide will provide an on-board commentary on this full day spectacular tour of lakes and mountains.

Stop at Honister where you will be treated to some of the most beautiful views in the Lake District.
Pass by the man made reservoir nestled in the shadow of Helvellyn.
Stop in the charming village of Grasmere for time to visit St Oswald's Church and the resting place of Wordsworth.
Visit the ancient stone circle of Castlerigg, thought to be 4,000 years old.
Adventure to Ullswater, one of the Lake District’s most beautiful and dramatic lakes, stretching for around seven miles beneath sweeping fells and rugged mountain scenery.
Buttermere is well known to be one of the most beautiful lakes in the national park.

- Please note, the tour starts from Windermere Information Centre @ 9.25am. It is not possible to be collected from a different location once chosen. If you are not at the correct pick up location and miss the tour, we cannot offer alternative arrangements.
- Due to the nature of the out tours, we cannot wait for customers who arrive at their tour start point late. If you are late for your tour, our cancellation policy applies. 100% charges are applicable and you will not be entitled to a refund or alternative.

What a wonderful day trip. The day was overcast and we worried it may detract from our experience but it absolutely did not. Our driver and guide was Tim. He made this experience so enjoyable. His enthusiasm, passion,narration,wit and driving all contributed to a fantastic tour. His knowledge brought places to life for us and his banter had everyone laughing all day. I was worried that the 8hr tour duration would be too long to be on a bus but the day went so quick and was interesting the whole time. Even though we have done this tour we will definitely do it again on our next visit to experience it on a clear day. For a rainy day in the lake district we had a lovey memorable day we will remember for a long time. 5*

I found the whole trip was just a bunch of spots that are only vista points for photo opportunities. Except for a couple of points, the trip was worthless. I did not learn about any meaningful spots or tourist sites. The trip is called “Ten Lakes tour”, but they only stopped at one lake for 15 minutes near the end. It was not worth it at all.

The Lake District has a lot to be experienced and admired, from the spectacular views to the attractions, eateries and so on. Our tour does see ten of the 16 waters here in the Lake District, from Derwent Water, Ullswater, Buttermere and Thirlmere for Example. Due to the safety of our passengers and the road constraints, we do stop where we can, but some our drive by views, which we do state in out tour descriptions. On every tour there is a local experienced driver guide, who provides stories, jokes and knowledge along the way, giving you information that you would not find elsewhere. We're sorry to hear that on this occasion you didn't learn anything from them. Elliot was a fantastic guide and gave us plenty of opportunities to stretch our legs, take photos, get food etc. He was very knowledgeable about the local area and gave us a real insight into the history of this beautiful part of the country. Would highly recommend.

Highly recommend the Mountain View Ten Lakes Tour. Limited time and limited budget meant we wanted to make the most of our visit to the Lakes District seeing as much of the sightseeing highlights as we could fit in. The tour and commentary by our guide Steve delivered what we wanted and more. Steve's knowledge and passion for the history and beauty of the lakes was exceptional. The tour gave us the sightseeing overview we needed leaving us more time to relax, soak in the region and explore at our leisure during the following days.

This was the best way to see the Lake District and to get an insight as to its history all in one day! Our tour guide, Steve was a fountain of knowledge and his story telling was entertaining and enjoyable! It sure beat trying to see everything ourselves in one day! Highly recommend!

A fantastic way to experience the beauty of the lakes without the stress of driving visiting the only LAKE in the Lake District along with 9 more meres or waters and quite a few of other iconic views such as Ashness bridge the bridge house and secret view the guide was very good friendly and knowledgeable. He picked us up from our hotel and dropped us there too

We had a lovely informative tour of the Ten Lakes with our tour guide and driver Steve. His knowledge of the history of each area is so great that it feels like you are going back to those times.
