Your booking unlocks the whole region in the free Wine Trails app: pick your date and starting point — Old Town Temecula on Front Street or Temecula Wine Country on Rancho California Road — choose the cellar doors you want, and the app builds your personal route with turn-by-turn narration. 37 narrated stories cover 19 cellar doors across Rancho California Road, De Portola Road and the Calle Contento trail: as you pass Callaway you'll hear how textile executive Ely Callaway founded the valley's first bonded winery here in 1974 and made his name with Chenin Blanc. No group, no schedule, no guide — pause for a long lunch, replay anything, and the audio keeps working when the signal thins out east of the vineyards. You'll need a car and a designated driver; tastings are booked and paid directly with the wineries.

Only 3 of the 13 audio clips played automatically. Instructions on how to use the app are lacking. Driving directions don’t show on car gps. Called support but didn’t get a call back until we were done wine tasting. Not intuitive nor automatically plays like Shaka Guide, Just Ahead, and Guide Along apps.
Thanks for the feedback, Anthony. I sent you the full log of your day afterwards, so I'll set out here what it shows, because a few of these claims don't match it. "Only 3 of 13 clips played." Your tour had 14 audio segments across four legs. At 11:12 AM the tour was ended with zero wineries reached, by tapping Skip on every stop, which is two minutes before your voicemail saying nothing worked. Nothing was running at that point. When you restarted at 11:26 you were already parked at Callaway, so the intro and the five stories on the drive from Old Town were behind you. Peltzer was then skipped in the app, which removes its two clips. The three wineries you kept in the tour, Callaway, Wilson Creek and Danza del Sol, each played their story, and the log shows check-ins at all three. The remaining drive-time clips play when you follow the app's route; if the car is being navigated by Apple or Google Maps on a different road, those pins are never crossed. "Driving directions don't show on car GPS." Correct, and we say so: directions are on the phone, and CarPlay isn't supported yet. That is fair criticism and it's on our roadmap. "No callback until we were done." Your voicemail came in at 6:14 AM my time in New Zealand. I replied at 9:06 AM, which was 2:06 PM for you, and your next message said you'd finished.
