To Join us, you need to drive past the only grocery store in Teahupoo called « Magasin Teahupoo ». You keep driving for about 300-500 meters, so you have to drive slow. The marina is located ocean side before a white/green little bridge. Just ask for Teahupoo Adventure when you get there.
Description
Teahupoo, located on the little part of Tahiti (or "Tahiti Iti"), is now worldly known thanks to its special waves that host an international surfing competition.
If you are visiting Tahiti and her islands, this tour is a "must do", even if you're not surfer.
Instead of watching from the beach, you can have something different, something unique by boarding our new aluminium catamaran boat.
Our captain, borne and raised in Tahiti, is also a surfer and grew up surfing the whole area. He will tell you everything you have to know about "Teahupo'o".
You will navigate a place full of history and "mana".

What an amazing experience!
Wow - this was an amazing experience! Watching surfers at the famous Teahupo'o break from such a close distance by boat was a little scary at first, but the skipper (sorry, I forgot your name already) was reassuringly calm and knew the break really well so we knew we were in good hands. This part of Tahiti is incredibly beautiful, and we felt so privileged to join this tour on such a gorgeous day. Thanks so much!

Great surf wave experience!
Our local guide was on time, very experienced, knew the surfing arena , and had answers to any question! He got us in a great position for some wonderful photos and also kept us and the surfer’s safe. It was a unique and fun experience!

Beautiful, but not exciting
It is beautiful on the ocean and we did many tours while we were here. Our guide was kind of a dud.. at 8 AM. I felt like he was still asleep.

A dream realized.
Our two week trip to French Polynesia culminated at the big wave and it was EPIC! Captain Pete was a really knowledgeable, friendly and just plain nice guy. We arrived a bit early on the morning (frankly chomping at the bit to see a wave I'd watched on TV for 20 years) and away we went. We had booked a shared tour, but were the only two people first thing in the morning, which was fine by me. It had been raining a lot leading up to our day, but that morning was sunny and absolute perfection. After we left the dock, Pete used the boat's wooden map to give us a history lesson about Tahiti Nui, Tahiti Iti and the star attraction Teahupo'o. A pod of dolphins appeared, as if on cue, to escort us out; jumping and spinning along the way in quite the show. She was 2-3 meters that morning and about a dozen surfers were in the water taking advantage of what she had to offer. The sound of that wave cannot even be described; what a powerhouse! Thank you Theahupoo Adventure Tours and Captain Pete for giving us a GREAT morning and making my dream come true.

Once in a lifetime
Super friendly and enthusiastic operator, a keen surfer and highly experienced captain, and the only boat with a top deck. We took 3 separate trips to the wave with him.
First, we watched the WSL Tahiti Pro, and he expertly positioned us to watch the surfers getting barreled. Secondly, we took our board and joined the line-up, and on a third trip we swam and watched the locals ride clean double overheads. Perfect.

Teahupo'o Waves
Magnificence. It was perfect; we positioned the boat between the two wave sets in a very safe neutral zone and, at the same time, in the optimal position to admire the origin of the legendary Teahupo'o wave.

Magical Waves
It was very cool to experience seeing waves at one of the world’s best surf spots. We did the early morning private wave watching tour which was wonderful. Our guide explained the area and knew some of the surfers that were out that day. Waves were small but very clean and gorgeous to see. Being out there lets you see up close the force these waves have. It was exciting to see the surfers up close riding the waves. It’s an experience we will not forget and a check mark on our bucket list.

Watch the surfers
Super nice early boat trip out to the waves to watch the surfers. Was relaxed and beautiful to see these wonderful waves crashing over the reef.

Best captains around!
We had the most incredible experience today at Teahupoo with Timothee and his son Hainau, the best captains around. Both really nice, approachable with a desire to share and show their treasure at best.
We were so close that we felt the energy in the line up and at the same time super safe since Timothee knows how to read the wave like no one else. Highly recommend!
