Air conditioner broken, toilet not usable, food obviously out for too long. Not much of a tour. Not much to see.
We are instructed to arrive 15 min early (in the pouring rain). 5 min before the tour is supposed to start, they send out a text that it will be 30 min late. So 45 min in the pouring rain. I set out to find a bathroom for my 9 year old and thank goodness since there was not a functioning toilet (I'm also with a 80 year old woman). I'd give the food a 1/10. If there wasn't the amazing singer onboard, the experience would be a 0/10
I did the tea around town today with my girlfriend and her family, it was great! So much fun, the desserts and sandwiches were different, not awful, just different. Anja, our tour guide, was awesome, and so was our tea server i think her name was stellar. The cute little collectible cup was adorable. I have always wanted to experience this, and glad I did. My only complaint is that those stairs to get up there are treacherous, so take your time! :)
I booked this experience BEFORE I read all the TERRIBLE reviews. I’m SO HAPPY we did this!! Our experience was OPPOSITE of the bad reviews. The bus was beautiful inside and out! The staff and driver were fun and interactive. The food was delicious and beautifully displayed. My friends and I were very happy with our experience and would ABSOLUTELY recommend this experience to others.
Tea bus tour was scheduled for Friday, April 10, 2026 @ 12pm for 90 minutes that included 6 teas & 6 food pairings with a guided tour narrator. Received (3) texts regarding delaying tour.. Tour bus finally arrived @ approx 2:45 pm We boarded bus and departed at approx 3:10pm. Guests was served one tea by hostess immediately after departing. Hostess then left the area and never returned to serve guests or guide-narrate tour. We circled around the downtown area for approx 60 mins and returned to point of pickup. The hostess appeared at the end of the tour and apologized for the bad experience and stated the driver was new and not from the area and she had to go help him navigate the route around town. She advised guests to contact customer service for any complaints.
This was a horrible experience. Was three hours late. Food was not good. No narrator for the tour. We were only offered 1 tea not the expected ones that were described. Not enough help. Driver got lost so worker stayed down stairs with driver. Do not recommend.
Absolutely horrible experience! Do NOT recommend. First the bus is 1.5 hours late. We have to walk 3 blocks to a different location because of poor planning on their part. Once on the bus the air conditioning was out, the food was awful we couldn't get a whole cup of tea and food that was supposed to be there was missing. The souvenir tumblers were also missing. To top it all off, the "tour" was supposed to last 75 minutes only lasted roughly 35. The next "tour" was due so ours was cut short. $100/per person wasted.
I gave 2 STARS for our Houston Tea Bus Tour on 1/31 because of the misrepresentation of expected tour time paid for by consumers and unprofessional conduct of driver. A group of 20+ ladies paid for a 90-minute experience, but what we received was a gross misrepresentation of the service advertised on the Tea Around Town Houston website. Our group of 20+ ladies arrived early at 2:00 PM. We observed the bus drop off previous passengers and leave immediately. Despite their policy that we "leave promptly and cannot accommodate late guests," the driver did not return for our scheduled 2:30 PM tour until 3:28 PM. We were left standing in the cold for over 30 minutes before having to seek shelter in a nearby building for another 25 minutes. Lack of Professionalism: Upon arrival at 3:28 PM, the driver offered no apologies. He remained in the vehicle and failed to assist any of the guests—many of whom were elders or found the steep steps difficult—into the bus. Incomplete Tour: We did not depart until 3:40 PM and were returned at 4:20 PM. We paid for a 90-minute tour but only received a 40-minute ride. This constitutes false advertising and a breach of contract. Unprofessional Behavior: After shorting us 50 minutes of our paid time, the driver tooted his horn and drove off while guests were still trying to take photos. I would like to note that the young lady working as our guide/server was excellent. She managed multiple roles with grace while handling the group's justified irritation. However, her hard work does not excuse the driver’s reportedly habitual tardiness and rude demeanor, which has been echoed in other public reviews & reported but yet continues!!! Despite the one hour delay and being deprived of more than half of our paid tour time we enjoyed the short experience and the food was very good. We have yet to receive a follow up response from the company, a week later. Likely, the reason this negative behavior continues with this particular driver. The Customer’s TEA
We had a great time! Definitely recommend 10/10. I highly recommend bringing an appetite and plenty of room for the teas plus all the extras the serve along the experience!
My Daughter and I enjoyed the experience so much that she's already planning to come back! The service was great, and the teas and pastries were delicious!
