The Tanah Lot temple was built and has been a part of Balinese mythology for centuries. The temple is one of seven sea temples around the Balinese coast. Each of the sea temples was established within eyesight of the next to form a chain along the south-western coast. In addition to Balinese mythology, the temple was significantly influenced by Hinduism.

Pura Taman Ayun was built in 1634 by the Raja of Mengwi, I Gusti Agung Putu. Very prompt pick-up at the hotel reception...then take to Tanah Lot and other destinations. An overcast day...lovely walking around and through the ocean water.. Stunning views.. Take thongs/flip flops or shoes you can walk through the ocean water..

My husband and I absolutely loved the Tanah Lot Temple Excursion Tour. We highly recommend this - it is a must do experience in Bali. If you want peace, calm, exquisite beauty, and sunsets, this is the tour for you. Both temples were breathtaking. Our driver Nyoman was so kind and very patient in the busy Bali traffic. We had an excellent time today. Nyoman Buedi is an exceptional tour guide. We had an unfortunate incident and were delayed, he waited 2 hours for us. He took great pictures and even showed us some cool coffee shops along the way in addition to our booking. Highly recommend!

The driver/guide, Nik was very tentative on what we needed, on time, guided us through the sights, waited patiently for us to take all those beautiful photos of the temples. We had a wonderful time, although the traffic was bad and it was cloudy no dramatic sunset. We highly recommend this tour and Nik as your guide.
