There are 80 different types of cetaceans in the world. Currently, 27 species have been found in Hualien. The common species are spinner dolphins, patterned dolphins, bottlenose dolphins, pilot whales, pseudo-killer whales, sperm whales, etc.

Took about 40-50 minutes on the boat to get to the whale-watching spot only to spend about 5 minutes there. As soon as we spotted some dolphins (about 6 in total), we left. Convenient pick-up but not nearly enough time actually whale/dolphin watching.
