Some discomfort with this tour, sitting on wooden benches for the trolley tour, standing around for guided tours, and a cramped bus ride.

The House of the Seven Gables, by Nathaniel Hawthorne, published in 1851. Set in mid-19th-century Salem, MA, is based on the legend of a curse pronounced on Hawthorne’s own family by a woman condemned to death during the infamous Salem witch trials.
The Salem Witch Museum, founded in 1972, offers two historical presentations. The first tells the tragic story of the 1692 witch trials, and takes place in a large auditorium with life-sized stage sets which are illuminated and dramatically-narrated to immerse visitors in the world of 17th century Salem. The second exhibit, Witches: Evolving Perceptions, examines the European witchcraft trials, the evolving image of the witch, and the larger issues of persecution and scapegoating in American history.

I had a such wonderful time. Matthew was absolutely wonderful. Was a fantastic day. The tour was very complete and Matthew was very helpful and very good telling us the history.
This was a horrible experience. The tour guide texted me personally and asked to move the day, which we agreed to, but then one of our party couldn’t go anymore and we couldn’t get a refund. The tour guide was a random Boston person who had no knowledge or real interest in Salem. He rushed us through the day and skipped two things on the Viator itinerary. The VIATOR itinerary said 8-9 hours but our tour guide took us home after 5.5 hours. When I tried to tell him that he skipped things on the itinerary, he told me that we saw those things while on the trolley driving thru the town. The VIATOR itinerary had the trolley listed as a separate part from the other things he skipped. He must have had Saturday night plans he had to get to. Viator won’t refund us at all because he won’t approve the refund. We didn’t get to do any shopping and it was so rushed. If you want to go to Salem just do it on your own there is no reason to use VIATOR because Salem is pretty structured and has effective systems on its own and you won’t risk the chance of being rushed and losing money. A massive waste of $800 for 4 people!! Do not do it. ☹️😢
We’re sorry to see this review, but we do feel some important context is missing. You were notified three days before the tour about the schedule change and agreed to move your reservation. At that time, no cancellation or refund was requested for the member of your party who could no longer attend. We were not notified until after 11:00 PM the night before the tour. Had we been informed earlier, we would have had an opportunity to offer that seat to another guest. Regarding the pace of the day, your group was actually provided more free time during the lunch portion to explore Salem than we are typically able to provide. How guests choose to use that free time is entirely up to them. Your group chose to participate in additional attractions/tours rather than use that time for shopping, which unfortunately limited the time you personally had available to shop. We also want to address the characterization of your guide. Matthew is not a “random Boston person.” He operates these tours professionally and has never received anything less than a five-star review for a tour he has personally guided. Our many other guest reviews also reflect the quality of the experiences we work very hard to provide. We understand that this particular experience did not meet your expectations, and we respect your right to share that. However, the suggestion that the tour was intentionally shortened because the guide had “Saturday night plans” is simply speculation and is not an accurate representation of what occurred.
Was a seamless experience and our tour guide was extremely knowledgeable. I had an amazing time!!
Great time in a comfortable ride down to Salem. Our guide was great kept everything organized and running smoothly, we had lots of time to explore the area and never felt rushed. Highly recommend.
Really fun day trip to Salem. The pick up and drive was easy and low stress. Very friendly guide and the tour was very well organized. Loved learning the history of the area. Highlights for me were the candy store and the House of the Seven Gables. Overall very fun day.
Excellent trip. Well organised, great tour guides at each venue and Matt was exceptional with the right balance of being friendly and very knowledgable. If you want to visit Salem, which I recommend then this is the trip for you. 3 individual tours plus plenty of time to wander round and have lunch.
Very informative guide. Enjoyed the variety of activities.
Booking this trip made visiting Salem so easy! The tours were booked and taken care of for us. The van arrived on time and was clean, safe, and roomy. Our guide was very knowledgeable, friendly, and a good driver. He anticipated our needs, had water and popcorn available, made recommendations for lunch and even messaged everyone a guide for Boston restaurants to try out. We would 100 percent recommend!
Rory was an excellent tour guide. The tour includes the witches museum which lol was not that exciting but just ok. The House of Seven Gables was really interesting. Plenty of time to wal the town. Highly recommend
