Itinerary
We start the tour by visiting Table Mountain where we will take the Aerial Cable Car to go up to the top of the Mountain. Here you will be spoiled with magnificent views of the City of Cape Town, the Signal Hill and the Lion's Head. While you are excited and amazed by the beauty of the nature and the views, you will be taken to another view point where you will see the incredible views of the Atlantic ocean, the Camps Bay and the Twelve Apostles Mountains. You are advised to bring your Camera
Camps Bay is a glamorous waterfront suburb characterized by its expansive white-sand beach and palm-fringed promenade. From your vantage point on the mountain, you can see the vivid contrast between the turquoise Atlantic waters and the bustling strip of restaurants and bars below.
The Twaalf Apostels are a dramatic series of rugged peaks that form the back wall of Table Mountain, stretching along the coast toward Hout Bay. Aerial views reveal the incredible geological textures of these seventeen distinct peaks (despite the name) as they plunge steeply into the ocean.
The tour will then proceed to Robben Island Boarding gate where you will take a Ferry to Robben Island. Here you will learn more about the history of South Africa, the struggle against oppression and the role of Nelson Mandela and others who were incarcerated for many years in this Island.

A brilliant experience from start to finish. Our guide was exceptional, wanting the best experience for all customers on the trip. This included being incredibly helpful, friendly, and very knowledgeable about the activities and beyond. Everything was well organised throughout the day making it worthwhile day out. The visit to the Mountain and Island was everything we wanted to experience and more. I would highly recommend doing this activity. Thanks again!
Punctual hotel pickup, attentive and prepared driver, by going to Table Mountain early in the morning we avoided long lines. For Robben Island I had higher expectations so I was a bit disappointed but it is certainly no one's fault. Organized tour and booked through GYG recommended
Great experience! Very well organised, definitely worth it waking up early as we were sure to be one of the firsts to take the cable cars! Samora has been an excellent guide ! Thanks
Great day with easy and person who knows what he is doing and on time, communication flows and never left us stranded or lost. Good and caring we'll spoken.
Our guide was punctual and pointed out a bus was coming in so we could get to the line before the bus. Good source of information
There is no tour here, you are just paying for the driver to drop you off at the Ferry, which you can take an uber for. Also, I found my driver cold and distant, he just focused on talking to the other passengers who were South African, and ignored me.
This was a great experience but make sure you buy fast track tickets for Table Mountain. Getting the aerial car is challenging but once you are past that it is wonderful. The car has a 360 degree rotating floor so you have a chance to see everything going up. The views from mountain should not be missed! Robben Island was moving and the stores should not be forgotten. So much history in Cape Town. Yamelka was, open and took such good care of us. He put in a very long day to make sure we saw everything. He made the day for us. I highly recommend this tour and Yamelka as your guide
Semora is such a gentleman and brilliant guide. And he is a great photographer too 😀. Thanks so much for a superb day Semora 🤗
It was a great experience. Our tour guide Samora was the best. He was very friendly and helpful. He picked us up at our hotel on time to our boat to the Island. It was wonderful. The boat was well organised .
On October 4, 2025, our guide, Yemkela, picked us up in a car. Our fellow tourist was from Florida. We headed to the Cape Town Waterfront to board the boat for the 30-minute ride to get to Robben Island. Robben is derived from Dutch in which Rob means “seal.” Contrary to the history we have learned, Cape of Good Hope and Robben Island were the home of the Khoisan peoples for at least a couple of millennia. In addition to convicts being sent to Robben, a leper colony was established in the 1800s, many died and were buried here. We arrived on the island and boarded buses for the tour. Our guide, Yasin Mohammed, a man of Indian and Malaysian descent, was outstanding. We toured the max security prison that held Nelson Mandela. Mandela was in prison for 27 years — 18 in Robben and also Pollsmoor and Victor Verster. The other prisoners were Blacks, Coloreds, and Indians, because of various infractions, including protests and failure to carry their pass that allowed them access to only places that were listed. After our tour of Robben Island, we headed back to the Cape Town Waterfront, caught up with Yemkela for our half-hour drive to Table Mountain. On a clear day, it offers phenomenal views of Cape Town and the Atlantic and Indian oceans. Unfortunately, we had low clouds and so although we took the Cable Car (Funicula) to the top, ate lunch and headed back down.
