Live the experience: discover, explore and immerse yourself in the culture and history of unique places! My name is Marco Sanzaro and for over thirty years I have been working as a Tour Guide in Syracuse. The first in my city to offer real experiences to discover my territory. We guide you on a journey through time, from ancient Greek and Roman civilizations to vibrant contemporary times, allowing you to touch, feel and experience history. We take you to visit the archaeological hub of the city: the Archaeological Park of Neapolis and the adjoining "Museo paolo Orsi, rich in artifacts from prehistoric times onwards. Our mission is to make you feel part of Sicily, not just visitors. We want every experience to be a personal enrichment, a moment of growth and deep connection with the place you visit. Experiential tourism in Sicily is a journey of the soul, an adventure that will change you leaving an indelible mark on the heart.
The Archaeological Park of Neapolis was built between 1952 and 1955, it contains important monuments: the Roman Amphitheatre, the Altar of Hiero II, the Cordari cave, the Norman Church of San Nicolò, the Greek Theatre, the Cave of Nymphaeum, the latomy of Paradise (Ear of Dionysius, Sican necropolis, Roman and Byzantine) and the Romanesque Church of San Nicolò.
Among the largest European museums in terms of exhibition space, it is unique in its kind, because it contains the results of research in the territory from the end of the 18th century onwards. On the ground floor, the Medallion with its Numismatics Collections. On the first floor there is the exhibition path relating to the prehistory and protohistory of Eastern Sicily (sector A), the one dedicated to the Greek colonies of eastern Sicily (sector B1), the sector dedicated in particular to Greek Syracuse, (sector B), the one in which are exhibited the finds from the sub-colonies of Syracuse, from the Hellenized Indigenous centers, from the Greek colonies of Gela and Agrigento (sector C). The second floor houses the exhibition path related to Syracuse in the Hellenistic and Roman periods and the presentation of the Catacombs of St. John with the sarcophagus of Adelphia at the center of the path, whose discovery, together with that of the Venus Landolina constitutes one of the moments for the birth of a Museum in Syracuse
