Your tour of the Sydney Opera House allows you to step beneath the sails of one of the world’s most iconic performance venues, where more than 1,800 concerts, plays, musicals and ballets are staged every year. Explore it with an insider guide, who shares stories and fun facts about the opera house’s history, performances and architecture throughout your 1-hour tour. Walk through the elegant foyers, visit one of the largest pillar-free chambers in the world, sit down in a custom-made white birch chair and look up at the vaulted ceiling. Check out areas that are off-limits to the general public, learn about the distinctive exterior design made up of ‘shell’ tiles, and hear about opera house’s Danish architect, including his inspiration and building challenges.

This was a last minute...
This was a last minute booking but one of the best tours that I’ve been on. Sean was highly knowledgeable, so we learned a lot. I highly recommend this tour to others visiting Sydney for the first time.

Wonderful tour with a concert at night

Fantastic Tour which a guide who made it fun
very informative and fun. having the headsets is great as you can hear the guide so clearly- our guide was Michael who was brilliant. the main Concert Hall is amazing.

The tour only takes you through the public theatres. Nothing “behind the scenes” which was a disappointment to me

Communication improvements.
Many steps. In your paperwork, you dont mention where to meet. It would also be helpful to advise that there are tours starting at different times, so first timers dont get confused. Tour leaders should have a loud hailer to call for peoples attention.

Walked Away With A Greater Appreciation Of This Iconic Building
For years I’ve assumed the opera house was an iconic architectural statement that was synonymous with Sidney. What I did not appreciate was the journey to actually complete the building, and the engineering and architectural innovations inherent in the structure. The performance venues are spectacular and the scale of the building can only be appreciated by walking the buildings of the complex. Having a guided tour broadens your understanding of what you have seen. Book ahead - you will be pleased you took the tour.
