The excursion was excellently organized and carried out. The guides were very nice and addressed our wishes. Since we had concerns that very many people wanted to see the dolphins, we set off on the tour very early on the advice of the organizer (departed by boat at approx. 6:30 a.m.). This turned out to be a good idea and is only to be recommended.

We have been on two tours. During the first tour we visited Stone Town, Prison Island and a spice farm. This was a very nice and well-filled day. We had booked a private tour, which we definitely recommend if you want to discover everything at your own pace. In addition, we also swam with dolphins. During this tour we first went swimming with the dolphins, then we snorkeled and as a finish we went to a beautiful beach. We did this tour with a group. It was really a super special experience to see the dolphins in the wild and to be able to get so close. The snorkeling was also great: the colorful fish and the beautiful marine life were really a wow experience. Then we went to a quiet beach, where we ate delicious fresh fruit and enjoyed the beautiful view. We have booked all excursions directly through Abu at our holiday park. He is highly recommended! He takes all the time for you, thinks along with you and is honest about what he can arrange for you.

A wonderful morning! They picked us up on the hotel beach, and after picking up a few other people, we immediately headed to the dolphins. There were 15-20 of them swimming just a few meters from us, a unique experience. Afterwards, we reached Mnemba, snorkeled, and stopped on a sandy shore to eat some fruit. On the way back, we snorkeled again to see the starfish. Then we returned to the hotel, where we had started.

We had a very nice half day experience. Seen a lot of dolphins and swam right next to them. Nice experience. Also seen several fish while snorkeling. Good guidance from Abu and the captain. Also fruit and drink included. Highly recommended.

Abu is a very friendly guide with perfect english skills. He and the captain of the boat showed respect to the dolphins and did not chase them so aggressively like on many other boats. Snorkeling was much fun we encountered so many different fishes and other sea life. The fruit platter was also excellent so all in all we had an great day!

My Wife and I booked this tour, and it was wonderful! Our guide Abu was amazing guide for his professionalism and the whole trip in general, we had lovely chance to see lots of dolphins and swim with them together. We also went to snorkeling area and sandbank. The itinerary was flexible, giving us plenty of time to enjoy each location. His car was clean & beautiful. He drove us carefully. We were really looking forward to this trip, however we were extremely disappointed. This is a mass tourist event where 20-30 boats chase dolphins, circling them and separating them. We had the impression that this looked kind of like dolphin hunting even. People jump randomly in the water however for obvious reasons the dolphins try to escape quickly and you have to quickly get back into your boat (and need to be careful to not be hit by another boat while swimming during this mass chaos). Highly questionable animal ethics and welfare and to be honest this should be forbidden. The „snorkelling spots“ which are marketed as zanzibars best were also disappointing. Not many fish at all, totally crowded with tourist and the guides feed bread to the fish to attract them. This is evidently dangerous and harmful for the fish. In summary we cannot recommend this trip at all and anybody who gives a damn about marine wildlife should avoid it. (Also since sept 25 additional 10 dollar/person are requested by the government to even further rip if tourists—> supposed to go to marine wildlife but if they would care, they would forbid the whole trip)

This is a nature and we can’t control with it, sometimes you might experience more than you expected and sometimes never. However with many boats chasing dolphins and it’s true happens daily and it’s not stop dolphins to behave nicely to people since they used to it, some days they feel annoying and want to be themselves and if you experience this thing, it finally comes bad experience to clients.
