At the very beginning of our walk, Atticus alerted us to bird songs. His sharp eye identified many birds near and far. He was patient, unrushed, and very knowledgeable of every bird species we saw, patiently setting up his scope for settled birds in the distance. The walk was peaceful, a steady pace, and Atticus was constantly conscious of our capabilities. Booking, paying, being introduced to Atticus, confirmation emails, the walk itself and the follow up of birds we encountered were 100% professional. I can thoroughly recommend this organisation. This was my second trip with David Campbell from Wildstarts. It was as good as the first and I will definiteky be doing another. David has an amazing style. He is extremely expert, his knowledge is next to none and his ability to spot birds by sound and sight is extraordinary. Whilst doing all of this is is attentive to your needs and is able to answer questions and introduce really interesting facts. I went with two friends and we did two 3 hour site mini trips. A mix of song birds and water birds. We are twitchers although we have a baseline knowledge although tis is not essential. David accommodates to every level of experience. We saw so much more than i could have imagined including a cuckoo, nightingale and we heard turtle doves and so much more. Over 70 birds in total. I couldn't rate Wildstarts highly enough. We had a fabulous, memorable day with a really nice guy. Wonderful.
I had a day's layover at Gatwick and what better way to spend it than a day birdwatching. I got in touch with Wildstarts and they drew up an itinerary aimed at my target birds. David was at my hotel promptly to collect me and we were soon chatting away like old friends! I had a most interesting day at various locations with some great birds seen, including spectacular views of my main target. David is a highly skilled birder with an exceptional ear - he was picking up calls and song long before I could hear anything! Highly recommended as a wonderful way to see Sussex and its attractive range of birds.
I spent a fantastic day in Kent birding with David. Everything about the experience was positive! Initial email communications were timely and David carefully planned a tailored day of birding for my particular style and targeting the birds I was most interested in seeing. The day itself unfolded without a hitch as we visited a small number of very rich birding sites in Kent, making sure we had lots of time to look for (and find!) our target birds. A pub lunch mid-day was a great opportunity to refuel for the afternoon. David is a very skilled birder and a great person to spend a day in the field with, providing an amazing introduction to the birds and wildlife of southern England. Highly recommended!

A super tour of the Downs and Pagham Harbour. David (organiser) and Marc (guide) were very flexible and professional in setting up this trip. We had a very brief visit to Sussex before returning to Canada. On this half-day trip we added 10 species to our UK life list. Hopefully we will be back soon for another trip with Wildstarts.
