A great experience with very fine food

The evening class is ideal for travelers who want a peaceful countryside experience at sunset. As our school is located just outside Chiang Mai, you’ll enjoy some of the most beautiful views as the sun sets over rice fields and mountains. This session gives you more time to explore the organic farm — collect fresh eggs, visit the mushroom hut, and discover Thai herbs and vegetables straight from the garden. Cooking in a cozy open-air kitchen at sunset creates a warm, memorable atmosphere. With personal guidance and a focus on understanding ingredients and techniques, you’ll leave not only with a delicious meal but also the knowledge to recreate it at home.

This session was really interesting, learning all about Asian vegetables and then cooking them! Jimme was absolutely hilarious, they made the session 10 times better
The experience at Grandmas Cooking School was excellent. Everything we made was so delicious. Looking forward to making this at home.
This cooking class was very enjoyable. The location was modern and well-equipped, and everything we made turned out delicious. Our guide was fun, knowledgeable, and made the experience both educational and entertaining. A highlight for anyone interested in Thai cooking.
Brilliant afternoon learning how to cook Thai dishes, Roger was amazing very informative and great with his instructions and ideas on how to cook traditional Thai dishes
I had the most amazing time and experience here. I think it's a must if you love Thai Food. You can bring home the receipt and memories
Well organised, good instructor, fantastic food. Enjoyed being able to choose which soup, curry and pad Thai I wanted to cook and to cook them myself. Have done cooking schools in other countries where everyone helps prepare one starter, one main course etc, which is cooked by the instructor and shared. I preferred Grandma's Home Cooking School! Have fun comparing how your curry tastes compared to everyone else's! Had good overview of herbs and vegetables to be used in the cooking but did not actually pick them ourselves. Not an issue. I highly recommend this cooking school. Pair with a street food tour to have a good overview of Thai cuisine!
Other than some delays for some pick ups the experience was great. We were delayed about 45 min for arrival which delayed our end time. Plus they didn't contact us for a pick up time so call ahead to confirm as it can vary depending where you stay in Chiang Mai. Overall, we had a great time, staff was great, food was great and wasn't too long. Thumbs up !!
Brian, our chef teacher, was both very skilled and amiable. He showed us the garden where herbs and spices are grown and took us through each step to produce a soup, stir fry, curry and a dessert. His instructions and the ingredients provided ensured the food we cooked was delicious - and it was. The experience was a useful introduction to Thai cuisine and one I would recommend to fellow travellers.
