Zia is an enchanting little village that lies at the base of Mount Dikeos, the highest mountain of Kos island, that culminates at 846m above sea level. The village has kept its traditional feel and has become one of the major tourist attractions of the island. Here you wiall find many little shops selling local products, arts and crafts. An absolute must. Prompt pick up, great driver. The village is beautiful - lovely shops and plenty of places to eat. We booked Sunset Balcony and had the best table in the taverna with stunning views! Service here was excellent and the food was great. Pick up on the way back was 8.50pm so it gave us plenty of time to explore. Great value and highly recommended.
Very nice village, it deserves a visit. The sunset is, probably, truly the most beautiful on the island, recommended. If you are not traveling in the summer, I recommend you bundle up; it is really very windy.
It was a lovley evening plenty of shops to go around as well as look at the beautiful sunset that takes place I would advise taking a jumper it can get a bit chilly especially in late September plenty of restaurants to have a bit to eat
Not much to share in fairness as only entailed a shared bus journey which left us standing outside our hotel in the heat for nearly 50 minutes and no direct means of phoning an office. Eventually when I did find a number - it didn’t answer - even the concierge at our hotel tried numbers for us. Sunset in Zia is fabulous and worth the trip. Once bitten ………
Tour operator failed to turn-up. A complete waste of time. We missed the sunset because we had to find an alternative means of transport.
You have to come early to find a spot because this sunset is just sublime
The pick up was excellent. On time & friendly, polite driver. As expected, it became very busy after 6.00 pm when many coaches arrived. We were lucky to get a table for dinner, but would advise to book ahead if you wish to get sunset views. Usual tourist gift shops, but pleased we went to Zia for the experience.
The road up is a challenge but the view is stunning. Several restaurants and shops and beautiful buildings.
Do some research on restaurants beforehand if you intend to have dinner there as the best restaurants with good views of the sunset always get booked in advance.
Definitely a disappointing experience. Just finding parking is a feat, but being with a multitude of people to watch a normal sunset is too much. The little village, moreover, is quite interesting.
