Riding a camel in Morocco was an experience to check off my bucket list. Not sure I would ever need to do it again but it was worth the experience.
An all-round successful evening! Rachid is a very safe and sympathetic driver, the dromedary ride was a highlight and the food was also very delicious.
The Sunset & Camel Ride & Dinner in the Agafay Desert is, overall, a very pleasant and memorable experience, especially for those looking to enjoy the beauty of the desert close to Marrakech. The landscape at sunset is truly stunning, dispite the camp valey locating againts the sunset, although with breathtaking views that create a calm and magical atmosphere. The camel ride itself is enjoyable and offers a great opportunity to take beautiful photos while experiencing the unique surroundings of Agafay. The camp is well located, visually impressive, and provides a nice desert/rocky ambiance. The dinner is another positive highlight. The food was tasty, well presented, and reflects traditional Moroccan flavors. The evening atmosphere is relaxed and authentic, making it a nice way to end the experience after sunset. In general, the setting and overall concept match what is usually advertised and can be a great option for a short desert experience. That said, the main negative aspect of this experience was the lack of guidance and support upon arrival at the camp. There was no clear orientation or staff actively explaining the next steps of the program. We were not guided properly regarding the camel ride preparation, timing, or the dinner arrangements... time runs out, our group was the last, almost at night and after sunset... Everything seemed a bit unstructured, and we had to take the initiative to ask questions and manage the entire process ourselves. A more proactive and closer staff presence would greatly improve the experience, especially for guests visiting for the first time. In summary, this experience offers a beautiful setting, enjoyable camel ride, and a good dinner, but it would benefit significantly from better organization and clearer guidance from the staff/driver. With improved communication and support, it could easily become an excellent and seamless desert experience. Thanks
We had an a amazing stay with Raju’s family! Everything in schedule went very smoothly, amenities were clean, the meal was some of the best we had in Rajasthan, and every family member was very welcoming. Sleeping under the stars was also an amazing experience!
From comparing different reviews for this experience, it seems as though the tour may be subcontracted to various providers, which would mean reviews are of limited value to predict YOUR experience. That being said, I’ll give my review of the experience WE had: Our driver Said was great—punctual and friendly and kindly stopped to get us some water for the drive. The shopping stop at the argan oil cooperative feels a bit heavy-handed, but if you’re in the market anyway, it’s not a bad place to pick up a few things. Our transport to the ride was private, but we met up with other small groups for the camel ride, meal, and performances. The sunset camel ride was nice, if fairly brief, and the dinner and performances (musicians and fire show—tips were not requested but felt earned) were nice. Overall definitely a classic Moroccan tourist experience, and if that’s what you’re looking for, you’ll be in the right place!
Despite a change of car which made the start of this excursion a bit bumpy, we had a good time but we thought there were too many people - the camels ( dromadaires actually) seemed not in a good shape which made us feel not so comfortable riding them . The ride was also very brief and the poor weather with rain didn’t help . However the staff was helpful and dinner was ok . We really enjoyed the show anyway the 3 MAROCCAN musicians which were lovely . With hindsight , if you have more days in Marrakech, it’s probably better to stay 2 days in the Sahara desert with sand versus Agafay which is very rocky . The Get your Guide pictures were also misleading as I thought there would be sand with a nice fire … which was not the case at all. My bad for not researching better .
Great experience, small group of 4 persons. The food was delicious and the guide very friendly. We can fully recommend the tour!
When you arrive you go immediately on the camel ride. Dinner is quite tasty and filling. Pace yourself as the first course is not the main. The entertainers were engaging and a lot of fun. Well worth the money.
Really pleasant experience overall. We were picked up by a luxuries van for the 1h ride. The camel ride during sunset was great, which was followed by really good Morroccan dinner (chicken tajine) and performances. We were particularly impressed by the fire show which ended the night well. Overall, a highly recommended activity for those who want to get out of the town for half the day!
Fantastic experience in the Agafay Desert! Our driver was very kind and perfectly on time. The camel ride at sunset was magical and the dinner under the stars truly special. Everything was perfectly organized — highly recommended! 🐪✨
