We will circumnavigate the island of Ortigia to allow you to enjoy the incredible view of the Duomo and the church of Santa Lucia, two architectural masterpieces, as well as the Ponte Umberto I, which has connected Ortigia to the mainland since the second half of the 19th century. Our itinerary will also include the characteristic small port, and the arcane former Bourbon prison. Next, you will see the Spanish walls and the magnificent Levante promenade in front of you, as we approach the Vigliena Fortress and the famous Maniace Castle, one of the symbols of Syracuse. The Fonte Aretusa, the Lungomare Alfeo and the Porta Marina will be the next points of interest.

We had a wonderful experience at sunset with swimming stops and an aperitif moment with excellent snacks and drinks. Kind staff, attentive to every need, who also recommended, at our request, some places to have dinner. I recommend it!
The wind kicked up, and the boat operator canceled the trip due to safety 4 hours before. He gave us 90 euros cash in refund, but the cost through Viator was 104, so we lost out a bit.
Friendly staff attentive to the needs of customers from the welcome to the appointment; we were accompanied to the skipper, who in our case was *Sebastiano*, a sensitive and genuine person. He asked us what we preferred, how to organize the tour, and what to talk about. He told us the history of the city with curiosity and contextual information, passing under the bridges and around the island of Ortigia. Perfect guide even under the caves with a U-turn of the boat. This was comfortable and had music playing at a certain point with the arrival of sunset and a drink in good company. Exciting: we all got off happily because we experienced something that will remain in our memory.

Beautiful experience visiting Ortigia by boat from another perspective
It was a nice day and we got to swim three times. There were only 8 people and you could either sit up top, on the bow, or at the covered dining table. Areas to sit were nice and padded. You could choose sun or shade. There was a bathroom. Lunch was yummy and adequate, the captains wife made it. I borrowed a mask from the captain that we passed around to see the fish. The captain spoke basic English but I wish we had more of a comprehensive tour of history and geology. Boat was a little older. Overall very nice.
Boat broke down and we were not able to go out. Very disappointing as we were very much looking forward to it. People on boat didn’t speak and English nor did we see any life preservers. We were refunded by the next day
What can I say .. it is not the first time I do the boat ride with sweet excursions, every time it is a unique and wonderful experience. Stefano is the best in this area, the number 1. We booked the sunset boatride for 2,5 hours, but we ended up going on the 3 hours boatride. Upgrade from Stefano of Dolci Escursioni! And it was beautiful! Of course we were very lucky with having such perfect weather, it was 32degrees and no clouds and to be at 17.00 on a boat feels very refreshing. We were with only one other couple, so it felt very private. First we drove around Ortigia island and passed by the caves (TIP, if you want to enter the caves and have more information about it, you should book the 2 hours cave & Ortigia boatride during the day from Dolci Escursioni) (the sunset boattour is too big to enter the caves, but it is still beautiful to go around them) We stopped for a swim around the Brother caves, which was beautiful! Bring your swimming/snorkling goggles, lots of things to see! After we continued towards south of Ortigia, closer to one of the biggest natural reservoirse of Europe, for another swim stop. You're basically swimming at sunset in the blue ocean, DREAM. Alessia, our crew, had prepared some very yummy food (also suitable for vegetarians). Roberto, boatcrew, has a thick italien accent but will still try to talk english to you. Both very kind. Drinks on board, wine, softdrinks and water. Dolci Escursioni seems a bit smaller, independant company compared to all the others in Syracusa, but that gives them a wonderful personal charm. The whole staff are very kind people!
A unique experience. We had booked at 6pm but for various reasons we arrived after hours. The boy was kind enough to put us on the next schedule. We felt pampered both by him for his kindness and promptness in solving problems and on the boat, for the sympathy of the driver. We also took a bath with the sunset. Highly recommend for those who want to have a beautiful and dreamy experience. ❤️
