Street Art Tour Köln Ehrenfeld

I live as an Immi in Cologne-Ehrenfeld and honestly thought: I actually already know my neighborhood pretty well. Precisely for that reason, my wife and I – after a few really convincing recommendations from friends – spontaneously signed up for this street art tour weeks ago. And what can I say: That was one of the best decisions in a long time. Right from the start, Beate created an atmosphere that you cannot “book” – you bring that with you. She does not just lead, she carries the group: with knowledge, humor, attitude, heart, and a charisma that makes you automatically want to listen. I really haven't experienced a person in a long time who can tell stories so well, while at the same time having so much knowledge and yet zero “lecture mode” – but simply approachable, clear, enthusiastic. And yes: I walk past here all the time. I knew many motifs, corners, and walls by sight – but Beate suddenly imbued it all with meaning. Suddenly you understand why something is there, what is behind it, who is speaking (or has sprayed), and how Ehrenfeld has told its story on its walls over the years. I learned so much about my own neighborhood today – and that feels special somehow: as if you were getting to know your home all over again, just with a better perspective. Bonus moment of the day: the spontaneous, small wine tasting at Immi on Körnerstraße. And learned something else: Immi means “imitate” – not “immigrate.” Exactly such details make the tour so charming: It is not just street art, it is Ehrenfeld you can touch. Bottom line: I would not give 5 stars. I would give 100 out of 5 stars. For me, Beate is an absolute exceptional guide whom I completely celebrate. Anyone who loves Ehrenfeld (or wants to learn to love it) should take this tour – and specifically with her. 100 points. Thank you, Beate.

We participated together as a family in the tour in Ehrenfeld. The street art tour was very informative and totally interesting. This was already our second tour and again we learned a lot about the scene. You immediately feel that Michael really knows his way around and does it just great! We are already looking forward to the next tour!

Michael accompanied us quite excellently and opened our eyes (company outing) to works of art that are invisible to most on the streets. Just pause and look. Such an eye opening experience to learn the the street art culture in Cologne! Not that the arts are amazingly inspiring, our guide Michael has thoroughly gave us insights on the work or artists which made it a very interesting experience and enjoyable walk through the areas ! It’s a must do your if you are in Cologne !
