Join us for a unique private & guided half day cycling tour of 15-25kms with an electric bike which takes you on an adventure through the picturesque Banhoek Valley, Stellenbosch in the heart of the Winelands. It allows the most breath-taking views of the valley while on the bike. Along the way we are stopping to taste wine at two family owned and award-winning small boutique wineries. You will have a specialist wine guide that will talk you through the wine history, seasons of the vines and the gorgeous valley you will be in. One epic adventure on a bike to see one of Stellenbosch's wine valleys. Our new starting point allows us more biking distance to explore through vineyards, wineries.
This is the official starting point of the tour Banhoek Lodge, Helshoogte Road (R310), Stellenbosch.You also may come park your car here safely. Please arrive 15mins before the tour starts so that we can provide you with the correct sized bike, helmet and also follow protocol. The tour will start with a briefing of the tour with your wine guide for the day. This point is also the end point of the tour. The bike tour goes through private wineries and vineyards and away from traffic and main roads.
Our accredited wine guide will guide you on a epic outdoor bike tour in a beautiful valley. He will talk about the wine history of the valley and the winery, the seasons of the vine and the wines. Zorgvliet will be the first stop for wine tasting on our route. Cycling here and time spend here calculated together.
While biking through vineyards and private roads away from the main roads and traffic we will discover and visit a small and boutique winery named Thelema for our second wine tasting of the day. We will be surrounded by mountains and vineyards the entire bike tour. Cycling here and time spend here calculated together

Our guide Abie led us on a wonderful e-bike tour of Stellenbosch and some local vineyards. Abie was warm, friendly and very knowledgeable about the history of the region. He enriched the experience. The wine tastings and lunch were great but they each seemed to be secondary to the beautiful panoramic scenery of the region. It was beautiful and made for a great experience.
We made a nice bike ride with our guide Tim, who told a lot about the area. We deviated a bit with our wishes from the program, but Tim handled it well. It was a nice trip between the vines on e-bikes.

On a Private Tour we are generally very flexible and would customize the tour on the go. The distance of the tour is part of the tour description when you make a booking. The idea is to have a very relaxed and easy short ride between wineries to enjoy wine tastings and take in the beauty of the valley on a e-bike. We had a fantastic morning with Colin from Wineland Guides. He gave us a very thorough briefing so we felt safe on the e-bikes. Colin was incredibly knowledgeable about the wine industry and local area, and stopped at the most scenic spots so we could take photos and hear more about the history of Stellenbosch. We stopped at Thelema and Rainbows End for some fantastic local wines. Also travelling via bikes through vineyards gives you the most phenomenal views that you miss when travelling via car!

As per our main description of the tour, it tells you exactly distance, how many wineries you are visiting and that you'll be tasting wine at two wineries. The tour itinerary has a optional third winery should you wish to stop for lunch, and this can be easily communicated to the guide on the day as the tour is very flexible and customizable within the time frame of the tour. We had a great day with Tim and Prince. They modified the standard tour of three wine tastings because we wanted to do a bit more cycling through the lovely scenery. Of the two vineyards Thelema was by far our favourite and we bought quite a bit of wine to bring back to our villa. All in all highly recommended
