This assistance is offered as a courtesy to ensure our guests can enjoy the experience without inconvenience. Regarding your comment that “the entrance to the Basilica is free and there is no need to purchase this experience,” we believe this statement is misleading for future travelers. The service you purchased included reserved-entry tickets with unique QR codes, which were issued to you and successfully used for your entry into St. Peter’s Basilica. These are reserved admission tickets, not complimentary walk-in access. Your booking also included our hosted check-in service, entry assistance, a multilingual digital audio guide, and a printed visitor map. As you also mention in your review, you were able to skip the regular queue, which confirms that the reserved entry service was successfully delivered. This is precisely the purpose of the experience and one of the main reasons many travelers choose to book it.
