Great coffee from strong women
I had a lovely time at Question Coffee and can highly recommend the masterclass. I didn't had enough time to do the longer tour to the women's cooperative, thus I did the masterclass but even with these 2 hours it was possible to learn and experience coffee from Rwanda from the bean to the final cup of coffee. Thanks a lot to the wonderful team at question coffee!

Great intro into the world of coffee
Gisselle was lovely and very knowledgeable about the coffee productio, she was funny, made you feel comfortable starlight away
We 4 different coffees Question coffee sell, and did a smell and taste test, in an attempt to pick out the flavours, tones and textures of each. Gisselle explaining all the way.
I did this experience on my own while on a business trip. And in the class was joined by 3 others, so its a really nice small group.
Gisselle was keen for us to ask as many questions as possible and knew the answer to the all!
They have a small area at the front where we were able to see coffee tree's and even pick a few ripe Coffee cherries ourselves!
Would recommend for a short intro into the world of coffee, especially as Question Coffee is all about giving Women economical independence, hiring only women on their farms.

Empower women & drink coffee
Absolutely wonderful experience! I love coffee but did not know much about the production process. Giselle was so knowledgeable and friendly! I enjoyed getting to have a drink while listening to her description of the harvesting process, esp since the coffee tasting part is only small amount of freshly brewed coffee. Only 2hrs so it was perfect for me given that I didn’t have a ton of time in Kigali.

Interesting activity but best for coffee lovers!
We did this coffee experience as a fill in before heading to the airport for an evening flight. Top tip - you cannot enter the Kigali Airport terminal untill your flight check in desk is open - so if you arrive early you get to wait in the car park outside...... Knowing this we had returned from safari and had a few hours to fill - we ate at Kigali Heights (plenty of restaurant choices) and before hand did the coffee experience. Patti was very knowledgable and as a coffee drinker with no real knowledge of coffee production, beans or how to taste, this was enlightning. You get a coffee from the cafe and a bag of coffee beans (the type you later say is your favourite of the 5 you test). As this is part of the price, the cost is a bit more reasonable, otherwise it would be on the expensive side for what the experinece is.
You get to understand the process of production and see a couple of coffee trees in the garden. Then you learn how to smell, taste and grade coffee (a bit like wine tasting). There are 4 different beans plus a blended brew to try your hand at.
Overall a good 'fill in' experience in a nice cool environment - if you are not a coffee drinker then nor really worth the expense as it is mainly about tasting coffee.

Patti is the BEST
We did the tasting and roasting seed to cup tour through TripAdvisor with Patti and had the most amazing time. She is warm and kind not to mention incredibly knowledgable about Rwanda, Question Coffee, and coffee in general. She is an excellent storyteller and so talented at her craft. If you’re booking, request Patti and you won’t regret it.
Operator response
Thank you so much for your kind words! We're thrilled you had an amazing experience. Hope to see you again soon!
