If you are a coffee lover, Boquete has a place in your heart! You are invited to a journey into the specialty coffee world in one of the nicest coffee farms in Panama! Bonita Springs of the Miro Family provides beautiful specialty coffees to many international roasters and baristas. You will have exclusive access to a real working farm, not a coffee museum or touristic display, but the Nitty-Gritty on how some of the most delicious coffee in the world is produced, processed and distributed for everyone to enjoy! Quality comes in small batches, so on this tour our maximum capacity is 10 people, we want to be able to give personal attention to everyone and answer all of your questions within our reach. We strive for the best experience from beginning to end.
We will drive by a landmark that shows how much appreciation locals have for the coffee cultivation culture. During the summer beautiful gardens can be enjoyed!
The tour starts at Mastranto Tea Lounge or your hotel, transportation from and to your hotel is included if needed. Start time is at 9:30 am and you will be picked up in a comfortable vehicle. The total duration of the tour is between 2.5 to 3 Hours. Start time is flexible. Upon your arrival to the farm you will be welcomed and the order of the activities will be established: 1) Short hike through the coffee plantations: Your guide will enlighten you about the origins, history, varieties and structure of the coffee fruit. Bring comfortable closed / hiking shoes, long pants and rain jacket is preferred. 2) Processing station: From the moment the harvest is delivered to the main building to the drying facilities and the methods used. 3) Drive to our coffee tasting session: At this point we will enter the cupping / profiling room, whereas with the proper instruments and techniques we will follow the steps for evaluating and scoring specialty coffee. Welcome to our home!
