Your journey heads to the Athens Riviera with its many popular beaches & restaurants as well as experiencing many of Athens distinct neighbourhoods along the way such as Palaion Faliro, Glyfada, Vouliagmeni and Varkiza before continuing to the tip of the Athens Peninsula with breath-taking sea views along the coastal route.
A natural rock formation & small lake set just off the sea front. The waters of this spring have been used by locals for decades as a health treatment & you will have the option of stopping here for a swim. The site is also equipwd with changing faclities.

The Ancient Theatre of Thorikos built around 525 BC (around 2500 years ago) is the oldest known theatre in the world but lies almost forgotten & a short drive from the more famous Temple of Poseidon. Without guards or fences one can just walk into this site & imagine the performances that once graced its stage with the backdrop of the Aegean sea in the distance.
At the southernmost point of the Peninsula of Athens we come to the Temple of Poseidon. Located 70 meters on a clifftop this amazing temple was dedicated to the God Poseidon. It was the last thing Ancient sailors saw on leaving port & the first site on return with many legends to learn.
OPTIONAL VISIT ON REQUEST (extra cost) Olive Estate Farm Visit & Olive Tasting. Your hosts at the estate will tour the olive groves with you & you will learn all about the varieties of olives, the growing and extraction process, and have an expert led tasting.

JUNE 2022 5 stars!!! Sounion Highlights: Vouliagmeni, Olive Farm, Poseidon Temple, Thorikos Theatre Viator guide (forgot his name), picked us up on time with luxury car and water for the day. We did the tour as planned, and each time I wanted to stop for site seeing/Pictures, he did. The guide wanted to make sure that we enjoyed our day. He was truly knowledgeable of all the sites and scenery that we went by, it was quite interesting. The view of the coast, the weather was Amazing! (29 degrees) He went the extra mile for us with lunch, beautiful waterfront restaurant (best seats) and went in the Kitchen to choose a catch of the day fish (not too big for us) and with REAL GREEK cuisine, Wow what a feast! (Too much foods) Since the Olive farm was closed that day, we went to see other sites, which we did not mind since we went already up in the North mainland on this lovely Olive Farm… Try the Lake Vouliagmeni for the SPA FISH! Unique, we loved it. (Go in the morning, less people) What to say about these Olive trees all over Greece…AND THE ONE that we visited along the way has a few thousand years old!!! CAP SOUNION was Amazing, ask you guide for the full story legend, remarkably interesting! What a LOCATION!!! Wow, and sunset is NOT TO MISS!!! THANK YOU FOR MAKING OUR TRIP MEMORABLE! Karol
