Snowdon Sunrise Hike

Amazing experience, great to not see the mountain on the way up as then it felt easier!! plus the views on the way down and at the top were spectatular on a sunrise

We had a fantastic experience on our sunrise walk up Snowdon with Hywen. Although unfortunately we didn’t get to see the sunrise due to the rainy and very windy weather conditions, the experience was still absolutely brilliant! Hywen was fantastic from start to finish — really informative, friendly and reassuring. He looked after us all the way up and back down, especially when the conditions became quite challenging. We always felt well looked after and in safe hands. We were also very lucky to have six lovely girls in our group who we hadn’t met before. They were all so friendly and really added to the whole experience, making it even more enjoyable and memorable. Sadly, no sunrise this time… but maybe next time! 😂🌅 Would definitely recommend Hywen and the experience to anyone looking to climb Snowdon. Tash and Kerry

Me and 7 of my friends decided that climbing Snowdon in the middle of the night to watch the sunrise was the perfect way to raise money for charity. Half of us weren’t convinced we’d even make it halfway up, never mind reach the summit… how wrong we were! 😂 We met our amazing guide, Hywyn, at the ridiculous time of 2:40am, and from the very beginning he was full of encouragement, positivity and reassurance. His knowledge of Snowdon, the mountain and the local area was incredible, and his stories and humour along the way were a welcome distraction whenever our legs were screaming at us to stop! 😂 Hywyn was absolutely brilliant at judging our pace. He was patient and understanding, but also knew exactly when to keep us moving and not let us stop for too long. Because of this, we hit every milestone he had planned and, somehow, made it all the way to the summit in time for sunrise! 🌅 Unfortunately, Mother Nature had other plans and decided to cover the summit in thick fog, so we couldn’t see a thing! You can’t book the weather… but you can book Hywyn! 😂 We’d also been forecast a dry climb, which clearly didn’t happen! The rain came down, but Hywyn’s infectious, cheerful personality (and those very bright orange clothes!) kept us going when we really wanted to give up. Honestly, I genuinely don’t think we would have made it to the top without him. He was an absolute gem of a guy, an incredible guide and a huge part of what made this experience so special. We’re so proud of ourselves for completing such a huge challenge, and incredibly grateful to Hywyn for getting us there safely, keeping our spirits up and making the whole experience one we’ll never forget. If you’re thinking about climbing Snowdon, especially for a sunrise hike, I couldn’t recommend Hywyn enough. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Thank you, Hywyn! 🧡🏔️🌅

Hywyn was amazing! You can't book the weather and you aren't guaranteed sun, but that it part of the joy of walking and enjoying the outdoors. What you can guarantee is some amazing stories, facts and a very supportive and helpful guide in Hywyn. We were able to glimpse a small bit of a sunrise and were hopeful for a cloud inversion. Alas we were unlucky as a group. Just means I'll be back to try again. Read the kit list and snap away with photos, it is beautiful

Hywen was great, keeping you well informed about facts of the route and surrounding areas, great fun to chat to too. Didn’t get to see the sunrise due to the weather but the walk was well organised that we had breaks at the right times meaning the tough parts were made easier.

Having never done a walk of this type, we chose MountainXperience for our sunrise climb based on available dates and existing reviews. I can say all were true. From booking to any questions witj Simon, all answered quickly. Our guide for the climb, Hywyn, was excellent. Patient, supportive and wirh lots of info and stories along the way. What an incredible experience to be at the top and to see the world from that height was breathtaking and something me and my family can’t recommend highly enough. Would definitely use this company again.

Hywyn was such a emphatic and knowledgeable guide he made the experience even nicer. He picked up on my nerves through messages prior to the meet and reassured me, I went to the wrong meeting point and he phoned to ensure I got to the correct place. During the ascent he was incredibly considerate to other peoples fitness levels with no judgement just kindness and understanding. It was beautiful we didn't get to see a sunrise but saw an inversion instead it was incredible. Thank you Hywyn for making it an wonderful experience. Found a new found love for mountains.

Went in 04/06/2026, unfortunately we did not get the sunrise due to the weather but we know there was a risk of that, our guide was Hywyn, did an amazing job of getting us to the summit in time even tho we had people that turned up late, he even took pictures for everyone at the summit and told us all about the history of the mountain and some of the surrounding areas. Even without the sunrise this was still an amazing experience and another mountain hiked, thanks again Hywyn! Even without the sunrise, we still got some awesome pictures of the scenery on the way down.

Lovely small group, Hywyn is a very professional guide and we had the bonus of a stunning dawn chorus. Great trip!

What an amazing experience from start to finish, Hywyn was a fantastic guide, full of information about the mountain and history of the area, a lovely person to share the walk with 😁. The weather wasn’t great but the scenery was still stunning and I’d do it all over again whatever the weather. Mountain Xperience were very efficient and the information they provided in advance was so helpful. I’d highly recommend this trip and company.
