One of my favorite snorkeling tours of all time. On the first part of the tour, we hung on to a rope from the back of the boat and covered a lot of ground. Second part, you swim on your own. Saw sharks, turtles, rays, and tons of fish. Loved that guide was eco conscious and told us to observe but don't touch. What a beautiful experience.
Absolutely recommended this lagoon tour with Alex. He makes you feel at ease and confident. We went to four sites each site was fully explain by him,and what we can look forward to seeing. He pointed out the safety features and how to respect the environment. Swimming with sharks, stingrays and exploring the most beautiful coral.Absolutely highlight of our trip in Moorea. This was our second trip with Alex Lagoon Tours and once again it did not disappoint. Alex is the ultimate guide - knowledgeable, friendly, calm and fun. We experienced so many highlights from hanging off of the back of the boat trawling amongst the turtles and eagle rays to encountering the friendly sting rays and black tip reef sharks on the sand bank. Next up was free snorkelling in between motus with an incredible coral garden and fish followed by a stint at the most amazing purple coral. We highly recommend Alex and can’t wait until our next trip.
We had an amazing trip with Alex. He really went above and beyond to make sure we had the best possible experience. There were just four of us, the boat was clean and comfortable, and Alex was very considerate and friendly. Super clever way of showing us the deep water channel and we got to see spotted eagle rays. I’d book this excursion again for sure.
Incredible time. My mom was well taken care of the entirety of the trip even when she struggled at the beginning. Alex was incredibly accommodating and helpful and safe. 10/10 would do again and recommend.

This was a fantastic snorkeling excursion! Alex is such a cool guy, very professional, but also super laid back. He made us feel welcome and comfortable from the start. He is super knowledgeable about the lagoon and the wildlife. The small group size of 7 guests for our trip was very chill. This is definitely a “snorkeling centric” excursion, so if you love to snorkel, this is definitely for you. Alex was able to comfortably include four different experiences into our half-day trip. First, he laid out two tow ropes, each with a wooden handle toward the boat and another at the end of the rope. He then towed us all around at a comfortable speed around an area of the lagoon where we saw several sea turtles and four spotted eagle rays beneath us! Then, we got back in the boat and headed to a sand bar area where we were in chest deep water swimming with sting rays and black tip reef sharks. Alex had some sardines, which attracted a variety of lagoon fish in addition to the rays and sharks. It was like swimming in an aquarium, everything was super close! After this we headed to a “coral garden” between two motus. We were given almost an hour to snorkel on our own in this area. We swam against a current out toward the reef and then drifted back toward the boat. We saw lots of great coral and fish! It was also just a stunning screen saver type location. You could stand easily in the water (in sandy spots in between coral heads) and take in the scene. In this area there are a number of private sort of beach hut/restaurant or hang out spots on the motus. Alex mentioned there are tours available for a day at the beach at these locations, which would be super cool to do. After this Alex took us to what he called his “secret spot.” This was another area in the lagoon where we could snorkel out toward the reef and observe lots of coral and sea life. The blue and other vibrant clams were a new and unique thing for us. We had ample time to snorkel here before heading back to shore. Throughout, Alex was explaining where we should go and what he was going to do and what we would see. He was always very reassuring that we would be safe and why we would be safe if we followed his guidance. He was very observant of all of us from the boat. He was in the water with us at the sand bar. We cannot say enough about what a great host and guide Alex is. You should definitely spend a half-day with Alex!
We had a fantastic experience. We saw sea turtles, eagle rays, stinrays, reef sharks, and colorful corals and fishes. Highly recommended!
Alex was great, very informative and an excellent guide. He is not overbearing and lets you have free rein of the reef. The towing idea is a great one and helps you see more in the time you have allotted with him. He is very protective of the wildlife in the area, it was a pleasure to hang with him and visit his favorite spots in Moorea :)
