Small Group Waterfall and Rainforest Hiking Adventure on Maui

Naomi shared a lot of interesting information throughout the hike and her passion is evident. She kept the participants engaged and was a delight! It was a great experience!

My mom and I went with our 7 and 8 year old. Our guide Grayson was very knowledgeable telling us everything there was about Hawaii, plants and random cool things to know. But the best part was how great he was at answering all of our girls questions and they had many questions about everything!!! He was very patient and kind, explaining everything (multiple times sometimes) and encouraging them out of their comfort zones. Overall unforgettable experience, we made a ton of great memories doing this as a family. The company Hike Maui was extremely professional and courteous calling me when I forgot to pick out the hike meals ahead of time. I would recommend bringing clothes you don’t mind getting dirty and water shoes if you have them, but regardless this is an absolute must on your trip to Maui!

We had a great time and our guide, Angela Dusenberry was awesome! She was informative, personable and very knowledgeable! The scenery and waterfalls were beautiful!

My family and I had a private tour with Mick and it was the highlight of our trip! He was incredibly knowledgeable about the path, the flora and fauna, and helped us understand the history of the region. He was also incredibly kind and patient with my 80 year old dad who was on the hike. Super great guy and I highly recommend this tour for the incredible hike and waterfall swimming!

Abby was our Tour Guide and she was absolutely amazing! She gave us great information about the history of maui. She made the tour interesting, fun and allowed our Family to enjoy nature! My Family had the best time! I highly suggest Hike Maui and Abby as a Tour Guide.

We had a great time! Momo was a fantastic guide. She shared so much knowledge about the rainforest. We even tasted several flowers. The waterfall was beautiful. I would highly recommend an experience with Hike Maui!

We went with Mick as our guide and he was great! Super informative and learned a lot about Hawaiian history! Mick was also super fun, encouraging (as I was scared of the 15ft cliff jump) and very patient! We had a variety of skill levels and still had an awesome time. Highly recommend! The rainforest is BEAUTIFUL !

Perfect experience for a few hours at Twin Falls- plenty of hiking through a stunning rain forest and unforgettable swim at the base of the a waterfall. But what made this experience truly special was our guide Mirna- she had so much knowledge of the local plants and wildlife. She also was incredibly patient with our rambunctious little one. They do provide water , snacks and bug spray. Also back packs and ponchos if needed. Highly recommend to bring a wet bag for wet clothes, a change of clothes, a towel flip flops to change in and your own rain jacket. For reference, I hiked and swam in water shoes with a tread and was perfectly fine.

This was our second activity with Hike Maui we also did the crater hike. I would definitely recommend this hike. Hike Maui does an amazing job and I can’t say enough about our guide Joel. He’s extremely knowledgeable about the area and the plant life. You will take a hike through the rainforest where Joel takes you through a history of the forest and area while also sampling native fruits and flowers right off the vine. You visit various waterfalls and fresh water pools where you can swim and even do a little cliff jumping. I would say the hike is moderately difficult the most challenging part is navigating through some fresh water steams over slippery rocks and depending on the season some muddy trails. Hike Maui provides plenty of snack as well as lunch sandwiches a variety of chips fresh fruit and nuts. Joel also had backpacks, ponchos and bug spray for everyone. Bring water shoes or sneakers with good treads. I wore my trail running shoes and they were perfect. Make sure to take a hiking stick they offer at the start of the tour they are free to use and it definitely comes in handy. Helpful items to bring would be water, and a towel if you plan on swimming. There are restrooms and an area to fill water bottles at the start of the hike after that find a bush if needed. I would definitely recommend booking this tour especially with Hike Maui they get access to areas not open to the general public which makes it a more enjoyable. Also if you have any concerns about snakes or creepy crawlers I have good news Hawaii has no snakes or poisonous bugs or spiders. Take this tour you won’t regret it.

The experience was incredible. They picked us up from the Ritz (which is about the most isolated hotel on the island), and picked up other folks along the way. About 10-12 or so people per tour, so it's intimate enough to feel special. Our guide Kaden was awesome and super knowledgeable. He took extra care to make sure one of the older ladies on the tour felt safe and could navigate some of the tougher parts (she had acl surgery a few months ago, so was a little uneasy through a few parts). He was also an eagle eye, spotting small lizards, a wild pineapple, and other fauna and flora we would have missed otherwise. It was not only a hike, but also a bit of a history lesson, which we always appreciate. The hike itself was about 4 hours. We stopped a couple of times for swimming and rock jumping. They provided a sandwich, chips and water for lunch. They even had backpacks to move our stuff to so we wouldn't ruin ours. Next time we come to Maui, we're definitely booking with them again.
