Small Group North Shore Circle Island Tour Oahu

We toured Oahu from Waikiki Beach through the North Shore to Pearl Harbor and back to Waikiki with Tyler as our guide. He was an excellent tour guide telling us about the Hawaiian peoples and their cultures. We saw many amazing sights including Shark's Cove, Turtle Beach, Sunset Beach, Halona Blowhole and the most expensive neighborhoods in Hawaii and its ties to the Mafia! We learned about the US military presence and drove past the U.S.Army Schofield Barracks. Tyler added his own touch to the tour telling us of his growing up on the island and he and his family's favorite places to surf, fish and "hang out". Our tour also included visits to a macadamia nut farm for coffee and nut samplings. We passed by Kualoa Ranch where very famous movies such as Jurassic Park, Jumanjii and Pearl Harbor were filmed. We were able to see more than we could have on our own during our short stay in Oahu and Tyler made every moment truly enjoyable! A must do tour!!

Tour guide Tyler from Daniel Hawaii was very good with information and history and added some humor. The only problem was if you sat in the last seat in the back it was difficult to hear. But overall tour was great!

Malea was so warm and knowledgeable! It's a long day, but very informative and you see a lot of very beautiful things!

Guide did not have much knowledge of the places we visited or Oahu in general. Only lived there for 6 months. Tour was only a drive by most places with the Guide not even knowing the names of the beaches etc. Macadamia Nut farm was very good, with the coffee being fantastic, Dole plantation pineapple whip with fresh pineapple was delicious definitely the highlight of the trip. Please if you are this tour guide, take some time to research your craft and learn about your area and the places you are actually showing tourists. It doesn't take much to read the plaques yourself whilst there so you know more for your next tour. He didn't seem interested in learning it anyway. I was really looking forward to this small group tour and coming away with some valuable insights into the region, but was very disappointed.

Had a great day on this tour with a fantastic driver / guide who is a local by the name of Tyler. Wealth of knowledge and was great fun. Small group tours are really a great idea. Tyler is a credit to the company. Keep up the great work....

It is so important to go on an excursion in a new place with someone local who is a people person and understands how to show you the best sites and communicate history and local customs. Our registration, pickup and drop off went seamlessly. We didn’t register until the day before (I don’t recommend this) but were made very comfortable through the correspondence we received. The tour itself was great. A thorough experience of Oahu. Our guide, Bodhi, was absolutely amazing! The only thing more impressive than his knowledge about everything Hawaii, was his unique method(s) of sharing what he knows. His delivery was interactive for anyone who wanted to participate, and for those who didn’t, they could sit back and enjoy the beautiful scenery and soak up what others had to offer.

We really appreciated the "shortcuts" to reduce wait time at lunch and the Plantation that our guide, Tyler, provided. The food options were limited to one business (with 8 options, not counting sweets). I thought having a menu to look over in the van prior to arrival was smart and a good time saver. At the food location, Tyler make a passive aggressive joke to one person who had allergies (and couldn’t eat the one business option) but could have shaved ice and fruit. The food was said to be fresh, which I agree, but I spent time removing some of the shrimp veins. There were a lot of stops around the island and I loved the overlooks. Some jokes from our guide were political, which could fall differently than he might anticipate. He also talked a lot about how tourists weren't very smart (| get it when it's unsafe behavior and I'm thankful to now know them). Other comments were negative regarding some local food truck vendors at the sugar mill location. We didn't have great timing with all the locations so the plantation was cut a bit short, unfortunately. I suggest kindly letting the group know at every stop what time we should return including and especially lunch. I think it would help a lot. I was very upset with a particular comment stating we needed to return to the van on time at the Plantation ("Right, ladies?') indicating the women in the group could not keep time. That was offensive.

Having travelled extensively in many countries, I’ve learned that a great guide can make all the difference between simply seeing a place and truly understanding it. Tyler Marsh was one of those guides. His knowledge of Oahu, Hawaiian culture, history, and local life was outstanding, but what really stood out was his ability to present it all in a relaxed, engaging, and entertaining way. He kept the entire group interested throughout a full day of touring and was always happy to answer questions. The scenery around Oahu is spectacular, but Tyler’s commentary, stories, and local insights added a dimension that we would never have experienced on our own. He was professional, friendly, punctual, and clearly passionate about sharing his island with visitors. This was one of the best guided tours we’ve taken in Hawaii. Highly recommended, and Tyler deserves every one of these five stars
