We had a great time.

A great hands on experience. The group we had was great and the instructor was pleasant and helpful. Overall the course was 2 hours with breaks in-between preparing the food for chatting with the group and drinking Georgian wine.

Operator response

Thank you for sharing this! We’re so glad you enjoyed not only cooking together, but also the relaxed atmosphere, conversations and Georgian wine. That’s exactly what we want our cooking class in Tbilisi to feel like — good food, good company and a little taste of Georgia to take home with you. 🇬🇪🍷

Thank you! We’re so happy you enjoyed the experience and felt comfortable with our instructor. Hope the khinkali and khachapuri you made became one of your favorite memories from Tbilisi — and maybe something you’ll cook again at home! 🇬🇪😊

A must-do

My expectations were modest and, in the end, it was a very good, friendly time cooking a Georgian lunch that was as simple as it was tasty. The manager was attentive and patient. My "technique" improved over the course of the activity. The place is also nice and pleasant. A must-do.

Yeah, not worth it.

The chef that taught the class was from Russia and told us multiple times that she did not eat Georgian food. The Khinkali dough is pre-made and frozen and is really thick. There was no quality control on how people in your group made the Khinkali so when it cam time to eat it, many of the Khinkali were not edible because they had almost no meat inside. The chef gave very little guidance and you simply don't get to eat the Khachapuri you make or the Khinkali you make. You may end up eating the Khinkali that the Egyptian girl sitting across from you made and who concentrated on folding the dough and not on how much meat was put inside of them.....like I did. When I asked for Kemali sauce the chef didn't know what that was, because she doesn't eat Georgian food. So in short, choose a different cooking class if you want to learn and you want to actually eat the food you make.

Operator response

Unfortunately, our regular chef was unavailable that day due to a personal matter, and another instructor led the class. We apologize if this affected your experience. Regarding the dough, we would like to clarify that khinkali dough cannot be prepared from start to finish during the class because it requires several hours of resting before it can be used properly. For this reason, we explain and demonstrate the full dough-making process, while participants work with dough that has been prepared in advance. However, every guest prepares their own khachapuri dough completely from scratch during the class. We appreciate your comments and will use them to continue improving our experience. Thank you again for visiting us, and we wish you a wonderful stay in Georgia.

A Fun and Delicious Experience!

We had a wonderful time at this cooking class in Tbilisi! Our guide, Jevgenija, was absolutely lovely and made the whole experience fun, welcoming, and enjoyable. We learned how to make traditional khinkali and khachapuri from scratch, and it was a fantastic hands-on experience. Everything was well organized, and we left with great memories (and delicious food!). Thank you for such a wonderful experience. I would highly recommend this class to anyone visiting Tbilisi who wants to learn about Georgian cuisine in a fun and authentic way.

Non cooking, cooking class

Although the evening was enjoyable, dont expect the full cooking experience as due to time scale the doughs were pre made, plus you dont actually go near a kitchen, basically it was just putting together a few ingredients, stuffing dumplings then food was taken off to cook.

Nice experience.

It was a nice experience. The group included 9 people so we were devided to 2 tables and the instructor went from one to the other. You only prepare the Khachapuri dough, the Khinkali is premade and cut (not home made) you learn to fold it. I am a vegetarian so we prepared with cheese instead of meat. You end up eating whatever the group made so you can eat what another prepared . Overall was a nice experience - came out good and the addition of a Salad , Cheese cubes , and Wine made the luch lovely. The instructor had good english and was very nice.

Beginner’s guide to Khinkali!

Group cookery lesson on table to side of the St Bunny bar/restaurant. Our host explained why we would be cooking and talked us through each stage. Drinks were available - first one included in price of session. Others to pay for at the end. We enjoyed meeting fellow travellers, sharing stories and eating what we had made. Maybe not the best khinkali in town, but they were ours!!
